I purchased a newer Samsung Smart TV but hate the remote. It has too many buttons and no backlight so it is difficult to use in low light. I have another Samsung TV that has this same sleek remote that I love. I was not aware that it is a Universal Remote until I ran across it on Google. It has very few buttons, so even though it does not have a backlight either, it is easy to remember where the are on the remote. It was easy to pair and I just love it.

I have a slightly older Samsung TV with a crappy remote that has about 50 buttons and impossible to use in the dark. I recently bought a new Samsung TV with the updated, slimline, remote (similar to this one). I was worried that Samsung said my slightly older TV, UN43TU690TFXZA, does not support those types of remotes, but they were wrong. I found this one, purchased it, but there was a problem. The right side of the circle did not work. They immediately replaced it and the new one works GREAT! I love this remote. It has all the same buttons as the brand new one, in the same place, so there is no learning curve. Very happy with this remote!

The only downside is that it often takes at least a minute to reconnect almost every time we turn the TV on. Also, I have to press really hard on the buttons, a lot harder than when we had the original Samsung remote. I do like the buttons at the bottom though that take me directly to a streaming service!

I do not know where my remote is for my QLED tv. I know it’s in this house, (possibly this bedroom). I decided to stop looking and it’ll pop up. highly dissatisfied with this product i do not recommend to anyone. the remote doesn’t pair to my tv and i’m 22 and very good with anything to do with tech. i hope they are to get back to me and help solve this issue because i am to assume i was sent a faulty product and i am very disappointed and no instructions included as well so even if there wasn’t an issue i won’t be able to find out i’ve used every pairing method and tried all different things my universal remote option on my tv only lets me connect to a cable box home theater or game system etc and this remote doesn’t work with the buttons that it says you use to pair that are written just above the battery’s on the back of the remote. if they end up solving the issue as they rightfully should i will be sure to edit this review so i hope they do the right thing.

My replacement remote control works great except for the Speak Button. When you click on that button it just sends you to the picture, sound, general, support & terms and privacy page of your Samsung settings. I rarely used that feature so it's not a big deal for me. Besides, what this remote control has that the original does not is a button for Netflix and Amazon Prime, which I use on all day long lol. So I'd call that an even swap. Everything else works fine. My Samsung TV model is: QN85Q6FNA. I've had my TV and remote for 4 years and the left direction on the original remote control stopped working. I called Samsung and they sent me to their website to buy a new remote. That remote control cost $75 which does not include tax or any shipping they charge. I thought I'd try this "universal remote" for $10. There was no pairing needed. I placed the batteries in and it worked immediately. Just make sure your tv model is covered for this remote. I am happy with my purchase.
