The connector is really strong, and doesn't slip when plugging something in. this setup has a 90 degree twist in the wire as well, which would prompt uneven tugging on the ports, and it doesn't slip/unplug, even though there is no snap to keep either end in place (though there isn't generally one on an x1/x4 anyways), I've also had zero errors with drive connectivity, which means there's no internal issues
