Product Description

The Holga 173-120 Holgawood Medium Format 120N Camera with Built-in Lens (Casablanco) Bundle is desired by art photographers the world over and is reminiscent of the Diana camera of the 1960s and 70s. The characteristic vignetting focuses the viewer's eye and adds to visual impact. The standard features from the Holga 120S still include: Hot shoe flash sync, uses 120 roll film for 16 - 6cm x 4.5cm frames per roll. It's perfect for classroom instruction, personal image-making and fine art photos. Holgas are now available in a Hollywood series. Each camera comes in a different color and represents a moment in Hollywood time. Along with the camera comes a story reflecting the movie theme of that particular camera. Still retaining all of those fabulous and unique features that made the Holga 120S world famous, this updated model, the Holga 120N, takes Holga photography to the next level. A Holga has four focus marks on the lens barrel. Simply rotate the barrel to the setting that most closely corresponds to your situation. Feel free to use your own setting that might fall between these icons. Plus a Ilford's HP5 Plus Black and White Negative Film is a traditional and versatile panchromatic film designed for general use in a wide variety of shooting conditions.

For Holga lovers, this is the real deal' the same Holgas that you've played with in the past for artistic/interesting/less-than-perfect results. The image quality is surprisingly clear if you manage to focus it exactly right. Love the vignetting and weird edges.But... I would not recommend buying the white variant. Many of my pictures came with weird 'sunburst' lines (think Japanese ensign) and I believe it is due to the sun reflecting of the white textured lens ring and producing a rather annoying effect. I never had this issue with the dark plastic.Perhaps you can use some gaff tape to wrap the edges of the lens... or if you are in a more controlled environment, it might be fine (it does look cool, after all) but for outdoor holiday snaps, it was kind of a bummer. Go for the black one.

Having been out of print film for quite some time, I heard about the Hogla and decided to give it a shot (no pun intended) since I had never used a camera so basic before. Despite its size, the camera is very light weight. The main issue with using it was getting the film spools in, but after that, it's very straight forward and basic. There is a learning curve in regard to shooting and winding, but nothing one can't adapt to., not to mention it's one of the themes of the camera. Processing my first pictures from it justifies the purchase, and I'm looking forward to getting more use out of it.

The camera came with instructions for batteries. There is no slot for batteries to go in this camera. It looks and feels like a toy camera. A complete waste of money

The pictures come out great! I gifted it to a friend who’s really into photography and he absolutely loved it!

It’s a cheap camera, it’s not gonna take great pics. Taped it up really well and still had light leaks but I can’t say I was surprised
