Its a great unit with only one flaw
It doesn't have a main power switch. Sur it cuts the output power, sure But the display stays on draining ur battery so make plans in ur design to put a on/off switch before this unit. Its no biggy but its just one more thing u must add to the face of ur design possibly (as in my case) more precious space. I think that's weird /funny 😄. Sure its easy to slap one in a design but if the company describes it as having a on/off switch than it should have a on/off switch, that is what it should do! But this doesn't. It's got all these limiters in this program but it can't turn itself off. Im sorry I think its ridiculously funny 😄.Other then this I like it. It took me a good 1/2 hour learning all the functions (some are totally useless to me) BUT/and but! U can't change from C° to F° ok thats another flaw. Wthell u have English on the Display, 50% of us use F°. Funny funny funny 😄

At first I received a defective unit. It would read 00.49V no matter what and would refuse to let me change the output.

Returned that one and got a replacement. The replacement works as advertised, the voltage reading is ever so slightly off. Even after re-calibration it’ll be around 0.2V off the actual reading. But as long as you check it with a multimeter and verify the actual reading, it works pretty good.

constantly loses all output. Input was 12v 3a and I was only converting to 19v 1a and it could not handle it at all. I have a bench power supply and fed it every recommended power the manual said and it just shut down every 3 seconds. No heat produced or anything and so safety was triggered. Just genuinely junk for a buck converter.

SO I have had this for about two weeks. The setup was very simple Connect your input in my case a 24 Volt 100 amp Battery, and then your output in my case I am powering a computer monitor that requires 19 Volts. Drum roll please..... The monitor turned on and worked. The first thing I noticed was the meter says .780 of a amp when the back of the monitor says 1.5 amp draw, however that could be the manufacturer telling the maximum draw instead of the actual amount it was not really clear. Over the last two however the amount the monitor is drawing has decreased according to this meter. Since the brightness of the monitor has not decreased, I am going to say that the meter is not reading the amperage correctly as of today the meter is say .30 of a amp draw opposed to the draw the first day of .780 of a amp. and again, this reading has steadily decreased over the last two weeks. Since I am not preforming any scientific studies how much the meter reads really does not matter, as long as it keeps the monitor powered.

Perfect product for my niche application. Tried to use the Trine LC-100 step down converter (specifically designed for magnetic lock applications) to lower the constant output current, reducing heat build up in the magnetic surfaces. The lower preset current wasn't enough to hold the magnets/door closed. This Buck Boost converter was able to dial down the output to 4A, keeping the constant hold on the mag lock while reducing the heat (the mag surfaces cool to the touch, where before I had concerns about heat build up and possible ignition source). No issues working with the mag lock app or spliced in exit button. Couldn't be happier.

Major Flaw #1:
I returned one of these because the ammeter display was grossly wrong (was 1.0A, but displayed 0.35A). The replacement does precisely the same. Calibrated it to read 1.0A, but it was still grossly wrong at other currents - it appears the unit was assembled with the wrong shunt resistor. Oh, well, I can work around it, but taking off two stars.
Minor Flaw #2:
Works great at low power levels, but could really use a fan at higher power levels. I only need this for lower power levels, so I'm OK. Adding provisions for a fan (i.e. mounting bosses) would make it easy to improve performance at no cost to the manufacturer. Take off half a star.
Positives:
Small, in 20 minutes of experimentation it seemed to work great. The UI is pretty clunky, but that's to be expected in these kinds of cheap toys. The display is sharp, bright, and large enough to be legible even to my old eyes. The nice thing about not having a fan is the absolute silence. I'd buy again, but I'll wait six months until this batch is used up and I can buy one from a new batch that hopefully has an accurate ammeter.
