All I can say after opening this is WOW! So much more than I expected.
The monocular is made of heavy, durable materials, has lens covers and an adapter screw to attach to any standard tripod.
Everything fits well and the focus control moves smoothly throughout it’s range. The front lens cap is retained by the monocular body, but the eyepiece lens cap only has a loop that you could use to secure it, but no obvious place to secure it to the monocular body. The screw that covers the tripod receiver threads is also very small and very easy to loose. Be aware of these factors. Personally, I removed the thread protector and have no plan to replace it.
Amazingly, this monocular comes in it’s own soft case . . . inside a soft case that holds it and the small tripod that is included. THIS was another reason I thought WOW!
There’s also an included lens cleaning cloth and an “adapter” to use the monocular with a phone to take pics. Personally, I think that’s silly. I use a camera to take photos, so I immediately discarded the toyphone adapter.
Now, about the performance. This is a very subjective thing here. Is it a high dollar scope? No. Does it have incredible performance? No. . . . Depending on your purpose.
If you’re birding on a trail, this is easy to carry and use quickly. Personally, I need something smaller than my binoculars for the trail and a small, lightweight spotting scope for target shooting. This is perfect for that . . . and the cases and accessories make it a 100/100!
Ultimately . . . Is it worth the price? Absolutely! For my purposes at least. If your expectations are reasonable, this is a nice, affordable scope.
Test images were a little hazy on a cloudy day but much improved in bright sunlight.
The smartphone adapter fits my iPhone 7 and can adjust to most smartphones. The phone attaches to the adapter first and then to the end of the scope by friction contact. There is no other tightening mechanism.
I had to zoom in with my phone's zoom feature, or else the screen view would have been just a tiny circle in the screen center. Maximizing the image to the entire screen was challenging, as there was cropping most of the time. If you try to adjust the adapter to the eyepiece to be perfectly aligned, you risk having the adapter fall off the monocular.
Overall, it is fun to play with for the price. You can certainly pay a few hundred dollars for a small monocular scope with higher-quality lenses, but it's no match for higher-end gear.

I thought she would love to be able to not only watch the birds, but to see them up close and film them.
When I opened it I was impressed with it having 2 cases. One was just for the telescope and then one to hold everything. They are both nice cases. The smaller one just barely fits though and the tip of the scope hangs out a bit. The strap on the bigger bag is nice and has lots of room for adjusting length.
The tripod (and phone adapter) is fancy. It has so many things that adjust. It took a bit to figure it all out.
I played with the phone adapter. It hooks on to the telescope. It has a circular hole in it to allow the phone camera to 'see' through the round eyepiece of the telescope. The telescope is a little too heavy for it to completely hold itself up when connected. I fiddled with it a lot trying to get it to hold it like it does in their pictures. I had a hard time. You really have to tighten the knob and only once was I able to get it to stay up.
The other way to do it is to hook the telescope to the tri-pod directly instead of using the phone holder. There is a button on the side of the scope which is just about in the middle. You unscrew that and it reveals the opening to connect right to the tripod. When it's assembled this way it's more balanced on the tripod and doesn't tip over like it did with the adapter on. Maybe I just need to fiddle with it some more and I'll be able to get it to stay up.
It has a nice feel in your hand when you use it by itself. It's comfortable against the eye. It's simple to focus as there is an adjuster right close to the eye piece.
It's not the clearest scope I've used. I haven't tried it for many things yet so I might try it for night viewing and see how it does.
I do like the design for kids. They often have a hard time getting the two eye pieces of binoculars to work for them, and I've seen so many kids get frustrated with them. This one is much easier. It's a good size for their hands as well.
I like the tripod by itself and would use it for other purposes than just for this device. It has a lot of options. The legs slide out fairly easy compared to other types. It's nice that you can set the legs at different heights to give you an angle. It was really steady even when I had just one of the legs pulled out fully. The design is nice and you don't have clips to have to mess with. It's all in the middle of the legs. Grasp the center and pull down. That easy. The range of movement on the top is nice as well.
Things that weren't the best:
There is a little cover on the tripod attachment that is small and could easily get lost. You can live without it but it might end up scratching things in the case.
I wish the cover for the eye end was connected to the scope like the other end is. It would keep that cover from getting lost. Just like gas caps that aren't connected when they are screwed off and get left behind at the gas station on occasion.
The camera connection isn't solid. It moves around. The knob on the back of that portion won't stay tight. It makes it hard to focus the phone camera as it moves just a little and that blurs the camera.
If it weren't for these issues I'd give it 5 stars.
