A good tent that could be better
From just setting it up in the yard to test itPros:- Pretty cheap at $67- Relatively light weight and small for a cheap tent- Very easy to set up and take down- Internal space is bigger than a lot of competitors. Roomy for 1 person with gear and just enough space for 2 sleeping pads and no gear for 2 people.- The two doors are big enough and the zippers seem to work well.- Internal pockets at all 4 corners of the tent. Hook at the top works for hanging a light.- The rain fly attaches to the tent with buckles, a good feature.- Clever use of the little pinch tensioners as toggles to hold back the rolled up doors.Cons:- I have used the Clostnature ground sheets as a cheap lightweight tarp for a while and like them. I was hoping the rain fly on this tent would be the same material but it is not. The rain fly feels a little thin and doesn't inspire confidence. I haven't tested it in the rain yet though.- The rain fly really feels like it should be a few inches bigger. In one of the pictures you can see that it doesn't cover the end of the tent by just a little bit. That part of the tent is supposed to be waterproof too but I would prefer full coverage from the fly especially since those short ends are where your head and feet would be.- Relatedly, the vestibules are quite small. You could fit a pair of shoes or maybe a backpack leaning up against the inner tent. But that's all, and I'm not sure how well protected they would be.- The internal pockets are a little loose and shallow and it seems like things could fall out of them without too much movement.- The guy lines on the tent are very thin. That's probably not a big deal since I'm sure they are at least as strong as the rain fly material.- You can't open the top vents from the inside of the tent.Overall, if the rain fly was a little bigger and a little thicker, with a bit bigger vestibules, this would be a 5 star tent (at least if the fly holds up to rain).

FYI, my previous experiences with tents have been using two separate single-person backpack tents. I hate single-person tents for space concerns but it is nice to have them fit in with a pack. For that reason I decided to go with the CLostnature tent with expectation I would have to carry it separate but the space would be worth it. That being said:

The Clostnature Tent is solid and would **theoretically** fit in a pack, but it'd have to be a pretty large one. I could see it fitting in one of the bigger pouches on a ruck sack for example, but in a standard "going hiking" backpack you'd have some trouble. I like the bag it comes in. It makes it easy to separate it from whatever else you're bringing and you can tie it or pack it in a vehicle very easily. In my case I threw it in the back of the truck that we took as a group and grabbed it to set up the tent when needed.

The tent comes with extra stakes which is nice. They seem to be constructed well and I was able to hammer them into harder ground without any of them bending or breaking.

The poles are solid material. About what to expect and they seemed to maintain a bent shape without worrying me about snapping.

The tent sets up fairly easy however it took a few looks to make sure I had the right sides up or down. Once you being placing poles it's very easy.

This could be seen as an upside or downside, but the poles don't "stick" to their loops, they slide very loosely through them. I personally like it that way so teardown is easier, but someone may consider that a structural issue. I had no issues with the tent structure-wise as it was set up for three nights.

The air inside of the tent is great even with the rainfly over. Good air circulation through day and night.

I did not get to test the rainfly as it didn't rain my first trip, but I was satisfied with the tent otherwise. It was quite cold at night in the mid-30s and the air allowed in definitely made it colder, but it wasn't better or worse than any tents I've dealt with previously.

During my trip the space inside the tent was enough to fit myself, a small personal bag for my sleeping pad and blow-up pillow, a charger and a spot for phones, a hunting rifle and another guy about my size. I'm just under 6 foot tall and so is he and we were both able to have some space. I couldn't see fitting a third fully grown man in there, but if you have a family I could see you, a spouse, and a younger child squeezing in just for sleeping. On night 2 of my trip I slept in the tent alone and it was a great amount of space.

Overall I had a good time with the tent, it kept up to windy conditions, was a solid place to sleep at night, was tight against insects and animals and had plenty of space. For money's worth I was very happy with the purchase and am looking forward to using it again the next time I head camping.

Not an avid backpacker just yet but have been camping for many years. Having had multiple tents through the years and recently researching the typical standard in the backpacking game, I'd say this is well within those standards for budget tents. Price wise its hard to beat as others have mentioned and I agree.

My goal was to have a budget friendly backpacking tent that will work great for myself and those additional trips that will include my wife and/or my son (5yr). This fits the bill very well as it has enough room allowing for greater versatility I need. Especially considering it's really only 1-2lbs overs some of the $300+ tents. Not the lightest for the extreme backpacking world, but well within reason for the 1-2 day trips on the AT that aren't very long distance. My range will more than likely be 1-5 miles and this will work fine.

Tent: Set it up indoors first to inspect and see how well it went together. Directions are attached inside the bag so you can't loose them. They are easy, small, but doable unless you need reading glasses like me. However, they may not be user friendly for the tie down lines and those not at all familiar with tents. The weatherproofing appears to be great and materials seems decent. Overtime with the PU coating, I'm sure I'll need to apply more waterproofing and seam sealer just to be safe. Seams are double stitched and fairly decent. A 1" section of stitching wasn't pristine and clean as the rest but won't affect the integrity of the tent. Poles were really lightweight and seemed to be decently made. Vent tubes on the rain-fly are a great feature to have for air flow and mitigating condensation. Although being mostly mesh on the tent, I'd have to be hard conditions to accumulate much condensation.

One of the biggest considerations I used in choosing this tent is the vestibule side of the rain-fly that has a double-sipper. This, according to my avid AT backpacking friends, allows you to utilize the canopy like opening to stay open during the rain. Thus you can boil water out of the elements and stay a bit dryer. This will work especially well if you have trekking poles. His hammock setups rain-fly/canopy allows him to do this and he absolutely loves this option...I'll be able to do the same. The V-split only vestibules on a lot of other tents won't necessarily allow for this option.

Customer Service: GREAT. Rain-fly had a small hole in it. I submitted a message through Amazon to the seller and they responded back in about a 30-45 min. Fastest ever for me. I asked if I needed to return the entire product or just the rain-fly? "Keep the fly and we'll send you another along with a free footprint". With a quick patch to mend the hole, I'll be able to use the tent now and will have a new one as well soon. Nice to have a backup if needed or if any unforeseen damage happens down the road.

For $75 I highly recommend!!!

Just used the 3 men tent to go on a 2 day camping trip (Car camping) in Joshua Tree
Was able to fit a Queen inflatable mattress (And no more space)
Easy to put together (less than 5 mins)
Nice transport bag and aluminum tent poles

The tent resisted a night of heavy (40MPH) winds so all was good there

Rain was not tested yet but seams seem to be well prepared for water tightness

For less than $100 I recommend that tent

5.0 out of 5 stars Great backpacking tent

Very compact, extremely easy to set up and repack. I did spray with a waterproofing before we set on the trail but it rained most of the night our first night on the mountaintop and we did not experience any leakage or seepage. The zippers work great. I bought a lightweight footprint for extra protection to the tent base. This tent slept 3 adults, a 22 month toddler and a medium sized dog with plenty of room to spare.

This held up well in a heavy rain fall. I did use sealant along the stiching for extra care but doesn't mean it needed it.

Very cozy. Easy to put together and not as heavy as I thought.

Cool design and having two side doors is convenient.

Love the look!

Cette tente résiste aux vents forts et aux fortes pluies sans aucune fuite, il y a de la place pour 4 personnes mais c'est trop serré avec le sac à dos et les affaires de camping, cependant, pour les randonnées, c'est une option parfaite.
