For years, Ty has looked forward to playing in the same league as Sid, the epitome of success. What he doesn’t expect is their intense chemistry or how Sid is the only person who can see that he’s barely hanging on.

First, this is Kit’s DEBUT?!? The writing is just so beautiful and flows so smoothly. I felt everything I think I was meant to feel. I laughed and cried. The spice was 🥵 And oh did I swoon.
Ty’s grief was immense and his struggle with depression was heartbreaking and so real. My heart hurt for him so much, even when I was frustrated with him. I was so happy to see him finally take his mental health seriously and do the work to start the healing process. Ty must be protected at all costs.
Sid is literal perfection. He is one of the most supportive, kind, and generous characters I’ve ever read. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about my newest book boyfriend. He deserves all that’s good in the world.
I really love how the relationship between Ty & Sid was built first on mutual respect, then friendship, before they became lovers. It felt very organic.
There are so many amazing side characters in this book! The guys’ families are so full of love and support for both of them. And each of them have some really amazing teammates, too.
I’m very much looking forward to the next book in the series!
As always, check CW!
This was honestly one of the most beautiful, realistic steamy romance books I have read in a while. I adored Sid and Tyler I thought they’re struggles were accurately portrayed. The intimate scenes in moments were beautiful their banter and relationship and emotional connection all around was just A+++ for me.
Every character served a purpose and enhanced the story just that much more. It’s rare for me to not have complaints about at least one supporting character, but these were completely perfect. Sid and Ty though, my goodness. Those boys are everything. Both are incredibly sweet and thoughtful. Ty’s the “broken” boy with heart eyes, while Sid is the possessive guy with BDE wanting to mend those broken pieces. Where they’re most similar is their haunted pasts and how much hurt they carry, buried deep down.
The mental health representation LTL gives us, mind blowing. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt so seen. It was nailed so accurately from every aspect. You could feel the visceral emotions from all parties and it honestly stole my breath at times. Being able to experience someone else having my same thoughts and then getting the chance to witness the other person’s reactive response while not being in that dark space myself? It was pretty damn eye opening.
The amount of healing that this book discussed and displayed had a uniquely magical way of soothing something even within me. I can’t stress enough how much this can potentially touch every person out there. Whether or not you love MM romance or basketball, this book is SO much more.
You can tell right off that the friendship between Ty and Sid is going to be different. They have this immediate connection that is so simplistic in nature because it just IS. Watching them cultivate and grow into something so deeply intimate - first as friends and then more just pulled at my heart the entire book.
There are hurdles - They’re both coming to terms with their trauma and Ty is learning how to love himself and in turn, let himself be loved by others. And the way Sid loves...Idk man, I think he might be my book husband. How do I at least become his best friend? He is the man they're talking about when they say 'books give women high expectations' bc if a man in real life isn't saying to me "our family will find refuge in our union" then I.Don't.Want.Him. This isn’t just 2 people falling in love, this is the sigh of relief in knowing you found the soul who complements your own.
This is a sports romance, and there's a lot of basketball talk. It plays a big part in the storyline, obviously - but don’t let that deter you. The sportsball is intertwined with story and character development - so for me, a non-sportsball person, it didn’t seem like too much. There's literally nothing I didn't love about this book...it's found family at its best, the mental health rep is so realistic and relatable, the characters are people I wish I knew in real life - and their chemistry is off the charts.
I didn't expect this from a debut...I didn't expect this from a sports romance. Now my heart is all tangled up and my feelings are big any time I start thinking about their story again. It's only January but I know with absolute certainty that this will be one of my favorite books of the year - and one that I will reread continually.

Just dive right in!
I really liked the story, seeing these two basketball players falling deeply for each other and trying to deal with their careers, their issues and being true to each other, just beautiful. Lots of games are described, it’s important to see Ty's space of mind (single POV) and Ty/Sid's faces off during the games are epic !!
Ty’s POV is intense, I just couldn’t stop feeling his pain, being in his head, seeing his nightmares; this story is in a way heartbreaking but Sid is Ty’s light, he’s supportive, affectionate, comprehensive, caring and still not perfect (nobody is).
Overall get ready for deep feelings, deep connection, harsh games, and a lot of s**
The way Sid and Ty fall in love is perfect. The banter, the sweetness and oh boy the s*xual tension 🥵🥵🥵 is incredibly well written.
Ty is a rookie who is haunted by the death of his parents. Sid is a veteran player who has his own trauma. The two connect on a level neither have ever had with anyone else after one conversation. The love between the two is palpable.
Kit takes you on a roller coaster of loss and pain that rips you apart of love and trust that makes your feel warm and then spits you out raw and healing on the otherside. These two work so hard to overcome their insecurities and loss and boy does it pay off. They work so god damn hard to build something beautiful. It’s incredibly real. The love between each is that deep soul meant to be love.
And the passion….is just .. scorching..you want fletching? Thigh screwing, possessiveness, somniphilia, marking.. you will be left feeling extremely hot under the collar
You have:
🏀 Mental health
🏀possessiveness
🏀instant attraction
🏀competitiveness
I feel like me review doesn’t even cover how good, how well written, how beautiful this book is. But I would recommend this to everyone any anyone. Remember tissues and set a day aside for yourself.
