My new toaster smells like burning plastic when toasting, how to fix it?

Turn on the toaster to the highest mode without anything. Repeat 2-3 times, check whether it is still smelly. Please carry out this in an area with good air circulation. If still exists, leave it for 2-3 days and do the method above 5-6 times again.

How can I empty the crumbs? Do they empty easily?

This toaster features the slide-out crumb tray and this tray can be cleaned up by dishwasher (except toaster ). Also, the cord wrap storage is right for your counter space.

Does the outside of the toaster stay cool when toasting?

Outside and the sides of the toaster stay cool, but please do NOT touch the upper part of the toaster to avoid burns. The top part will get hot.

Need evenly toasted breads?

Insert breads in pairs and put them in central slots. *1 slice or put in the corner may be unevenly toasted.

Toaster works just fine on sliced bread and thicker 1/2 bagels. The cord length is adequate for my counter space. The timer display counting off seconds actualy turns out to be a help when co-ordinating other meal items that you would like to come out hot at the same time. I don't know how long this one will last, but I'd buy it again, or purchase it as a gift.

Wife & I both really like this toaster for all it's features, and for it's high-wattage heating elements (compared to most other toasters) which gets the job done faster on average than our old toaster did before it quit.

The only quibble I have, is that the "Heat Level" rotary knob, does not have enough physical resistance to being turned. In fact it is too easy to turn even accidentally; thus I find that I often have to re-adjust this to #4 where I like it.

The plus side to that knob, when combined with the digital readout: the digital readout tells you how many minutes & seconds & 1/10 of a seconds it will take until your item is ready. If you already started the toaster at #2.5 (for example) and you peek in and realize it'll need a little more time, you can turn that knob to (for example) #4 and the digital readout's display will increase the time left displayed! Too cool.
