This is a review of the Peg Perego Duette Piroet, introduced in 2016. The Piroet is an improved version of the Peg Perego Duette SW. Most online video reviews are of the discontinued model, which was heavier and apparently less transportable.
The Piroet is an amazing find. It was much more expensive than any other in-line stroller I could find, but you get what you pay for. The twins love it, because they can see each other at eye level and entertain each other when the seats are turned to face one another. It is very comfy. The canopy can be opened all the way or pulled down to the feet. When the twins fall asleep, they don’t have to be disturbed at the end of the ride. You gently lift the seat off the chassis, kid and all, by grasping the armrests and squeezing the safety release. The seat reclines almost 180 degrees, and the footrests can be raised level. It has a five-point harness. Because it is inline instead of double-wide, it fits through normal doorways and down grocery aisles.
The build quality is outstanding. The stroller was designed and manufactured entirely in Italy, and it shows. The frame is made of tubular aluminum and is very sturdy. The wheels are large and turn and swivel freely. There is very little rolling resistance. It has a shock-absorbing suspension. Practically everything on it is adjustable, but there are no pinch traps. It is easy to maneuver and easy to turn. It is pleasing to the eye.
You fold it by pressing a release button and lifting two levers on the handle. The whole thing swings closed. You can close it with both seats attached or with one or both removed. When it is closed, you can lift it with one hand by grasping a designated bar. If you want to carry it all in the trunk of a standard sedan, you remove the seats first, fold them, and pack them separately. It takes about five seconds to release each seat from the chassis and another five to fold. The chassis weighs 28 pounds and the two seats together add 14 pounds more. My daughter puts the chassis on the front passenger seat to save trunk space. My guess is that, altogether, the Piroet uses more cubic feet than a standard folding stroller.
My advice to doting grandparents of twins is, if you want to win big points with the next two generations, consider splurging on this ride.

Fits in back of small SUV, so easy to use!
I am very happy with this stroller. I had gone to Buy Buy Baby to see it in person and they didn't have it. The guy there also told me it wouldn't fit in my car. He was wrong. I have a Ford Escape and it fits perfectly. The ease of clipping in the infant seats and the toddler seats is unmatched. I've shown pictures of it in the back of my Escape. One of just the chassis for when you are using the infant seats, and one with the toddler seats. With the toddler seats I do have to unclip the front seat and set it on top, but it is very easy to do. Also I have major back problems and my husband and I were concerned about me lifting it. So far so good! I don't find it to be too heavy and I haven't had any issues getting it in and out of the car. I have twins and I love this stroller for its ease of use.
