I have been using this now for almost 2 weeks and no issues. Sturdy, with some weight to it. Very easy to hook up.
The power cable that comes with it doesn't have a brick plug-in, you need to get one if you don't already have one on hand.
This model doesn't come with volume control, which has turned into a pain in the tookus. Somewhere along the way I'll upgrade to one with volume control, but for now this works very well and I will buy from them again.

How to Connect
1) Plug in the included USB cable to USB adapter(NOT included).
2) Connect an optical digital audio cable included from the TVs optical out port to this converter.
3)then plug in receiver/amplifier/headphone to the RCA ports on this converter.(RCA cable not included)
Please set your TV audio output to PCM / LPCM
When using a DAC to connect a TV device, it is necessary to set the device's output format to either PCM (Pulse-Code Modulation) or LPCM (Linear Pulse-Code Modulation) in order to achieve optimal audio quality.
Step:
If it is a LG TV, Go to Home page -> system settings -> picture and sound -> voice settings -> digital audio output -> PCM / LPCM.
If it is a Panasonic TV, set the TV's audio output to SPDIF output.
If it is a Samsung TV, switch on your external speakers: menu -> sound -> speaker setup -> external speakers -> on.
The fiber optic cable we included comes with a plastic protective sleeve, please remove it before use. Also, if the cable still cannot be inserted, please rotate 90°
If you encounter a situation where the fiber cannot be inserted, please check if the plastic protective sleeve is removed first.

Easy to hookup. Plug n play. Clear audio transmission.
It's getting harder and harder to find a TV with analog audio out ports and I even see the major tv manufacturers doing away with the headphone out jack as well, so with only a digital optical port on most current TV's, you need a way to convert to analog if you've got a device with analog audio only. I've got a unique situation. My elderly parents like headphones on while watching a movie and I've got an aunt staying with them, so that created a bit of a pickle. Most premium wireless headphones like my sennheiser rs185's can only handle two headphones at a time and when you've got three people watching a new tv with only a toslink digital audio port, then it requires some imagination. So, fortunately I had an extra headphone pair for their analog Sennheiser RS135's, so with one wireless transmitter and rs135 headphones connected to the tv using this digital to analog audio converter, problem solved. The reason they don't want to use say something like a soundbar is because they don't want it noisy to upset the neighbors, so this is the road I was forced to go down.As for the converter itself, It works great. Easy toslink in and easy RCA audio out. Plugged the Sennheiser wireless transmitter into the analog connections. Plugged the digital optical connection from the TV into this audio converter. Plugged the 5V power connector into the USB port of the TV. Checked that the audio was set to PCM and the audio came through perfectly on the headphones. That's a win in my book. So, other than long term reliability that I don't know about yet, I'm very happy with this audio converter.
