    It requires a 1 inch threaded mounting bracket, not NPT, (Shakespeare sells that too, but you’ll need a deck to bolt that to) it is for motor vehicles, (like boats) with 93 ohm coax cable( not a match for 300 ohm FM radios, nor 50 ohm communications receivers) comes with a Motorola radio automotive coax connector; the kind that you find under the dashboard of your car. Buy the Pixel AFHD-4-AM/FM vertical antenna instead; just for the box of splitters, brackets, clamps,adapters and connectors, cables and jumpers that come with it. You’ll need all of that to get the Shakespeare up and running. Other than that the Shakespeare Is a tough animal that will still be there after the Hurricane.

    I recently purchased 2 Shakespeare marine antennas of their Galaxy line. A VHF 5225XT and this 5235XT. The coax cable on the 5225XT purchased from a different Amazon vendor was snow white. The cable on this antenna was decided yellowed as if from aging. Otherwise the antenna seems fine.
