The seller says these spool huggers are "compatible with larger spools" so I was hopeful, but I was disappointed that they didn't work at all with my larger spools. See the uploaded photo. (Each of the "spool huggers" measures only 3 1/2 inches when it is totally stretched and flattened.)These work fine with small embroidery spools, however.It would have been 5 stars if these came in various sizes so that they truly worked on differently sized spools. Since it works fine on smaller embroidery spools, I am giving this product 4 stars.

I tried using masking tape, rubber bands, pipe cleaners and other methods to control my thread. Nothing worked very well. I saw these and thought they were kinda "gimmicky", but ordered them anyway. Guess what?! I really like them! I like the colors of these and the fact you get so many! I bought to keep the thread on my spools from being messy and unraveling and hanging all over the place. I noticed they work well on small and regular size thread spools. They don't fit on large spools. I'm thinking of ordering another to give as a gift. People who sew will probably appreciate these.
