I did not try this on my windshield because it's bad for you to put your GPS on your windshield anyways (bad for the device in case it drops, more likely to overheat device, etc). But I did use it on the disk (you put on the dashboard) that originally comes when you buy a TomTom device and I am very impressed--it's suction cup is stronger than the original TomTom mount and it's less wobbly too (very important since I drive on a lot of country roads/woods areas)! Fits my TomTom perfectly and is easier to turn the mount onto lock than the original. I will keep buying from this seller too; I received the product two days after I purchased it. Very pleased with this product after two weeks of use.

The only thing that I can add is that I took the rubber screw covers off the original mount, and put them on the replacement mount. Takes a little more force to get the GPS to attach to the mount, but my original may have had springs that were relaxed a little.

My old windshield mount was broken by a friend, so the lock wouldn't work and the suction cup would keep coming off. Seeking a new one, I purchased this. It didn't even have time to break, the lock was too far away from the suction cup to work, and it kept coming unlocked. It wouldn't even stick to the windshield mount surface I'm supposed to use for these. I tried it on other surfaces, and the suction cup literally fell off the rest of the mount. It wasn't even attached properly, just a thin line of what is either really cheap plastic or children's glue.

This product is a piece of garbage, pure and simple. It frustrated me so much (I was driving down a winding road during my first test drive with it, and it continued to fall off and slid around the dash) that I wanted to take a plunger to the face of whoever made this, just to show them how proper suction works. No, check that, this product sucks a lot, just not in the way it's supposed to.

Purchased one from the Amazon site from one of the distributor. Opened the package up and noticed the center of the rubber piece was splitting apart. The distributor sent another one to replace the one I ordered. Went to place it up on my window and it fell apart. These GPS mounting units are not good to have and would not recommend them to anyone, unless you have grey tape to put it back together. Spend a few more dollars and get the GPS mounting unit with the goose neck.
