I was surprised by this routers abilities, especially after reading some of the lesser starred reviews. The router was easy to set up with very little instruction needed. The speeds are faster than expected and our home typically runs 3-4 phones, 1-2 computers, and a gaming system at one time. I also have a 3 story home and the signal was able to cover a decent portion for not having a repeater. I placed it in the bottom corner and was able to get signal (at least well enough for my phone) at the opposite corner on the second floor. I’d say if I had a repeater there my whole house would be covered no problem.
So if you’re looking for a well priced option to get pretty good speeds in a 1-2 story home with a small family of devices this is a great option. 👍

A Little Trouble Installing but is Working Well

I purchased this to use as an access point replacing a much older router being used for the same purpose. My main router is also a TP-Link. These routers have a mode in the software specifically to be used this way.

I had a little trouble setting it up. The first time I tried to configure the mode, it didn't seem like it took and the router got stuck saving the configuration. I kept getting "unknown error". This was while trying to access it by connecting directly to an ethernet port from a PC as the instruction said to do. However, I just plugged it into my main router and was able to login to the main router to see the new router's IP address (which it connected to with no problem). Then I just used that IP address from my browser from a PC on the network to login to the new router. Once I did that I had no problem setting up the configuration and it was super fast. Once that was done and I set up my WiFi networks everything worked perfectly. Now it is working correctly as an access point, plugged into the main router by ethernet, with 3 devices plugged into the other ethernet ports and more devices using it as a WiFi connection.

The connection seems better than my old router which is what I was looking for.

TP-Link AC1200 - I have 3 floors. My main router is on the first floor by the east wall. For some reason, the WiFi signal by the west wall is very weak, even on the second floor. I put TP-Link routed on the third floor by the west wall and configured it as AP with the same SSID as my main router. The routers are connected using a coaxial cable and 2 MoCA adapters. My Xfinity internet speed is 800 Mbps. I now have ~400 Mbps anywhere in my house.

The TP-Link AC1200 is a decent affordable route with good features. I have always been a fan of TP-Link products, as I also own a TP-Link switch. I replaced my Spectrum router with this one and it works great, so it does work for Spectrum for those who are wondering about it. The router supports WiFi 5 (802.11ac), and has the ability for smart connection (the ability to combine 2g and 5g bands into one channel). It also has the ability of WPA3 encryption which is always important for WiFi users. The router has a user friendly GUI, it’s very well organized and easily manageable. Replacement for my old TP Link N300 and works perfectly with Spectrum

Installation was quick and easy. Essentially doubled if not tripled my download speed and doubled my upload speed. Coverage has extended substantially as well. I now have great wifi in my backyard when this new AC1200 router is located in the front of the house. I have this working flawlessly with the Spectrum cable modem. I will continue to update regarding longevity so if you don't see anything new then that's a good thing.

Cheap and works well for my fiber optics 400mbps internet, But needed Tether app for it to work.

I got this cheapest fiber package you can get which is 400mbps so this router is perfect for me . Only annoying part is that it didn't work out of the box I had to download the Tether App and connect this router to my phone before it would work. Not that big of a deal but definitely odd that it can't work out of the box
