Bitdefender Is The Best Of The Best
I've been using internet security software since the mid 1990's, having tried the majority of them, and I feel that Bitdefender is the best of the best. Bitdefender has been around for about 20 years and has been the innovator in security software, creating one new technology milestone after another and continually raising the bar in the industry. Bitdefender works in the background without bugging me or hampering my system performance. I feel that it offers the most extra features for my money, features that include a VPN, a file shredder to permanently delete files, a password manager, multiple optimization tools, and even its own internet browser to help secure sensitive online transactions, among other features. Bitdefender also offers optional services that include identity theft protection and remote assistance. It's no wonder Bitdefender has consistently ranked at the top of other security suites tested by independent labs and has won numerous awards in multiple categories.

Excellent security. It works very well.

A couple of irritating features: (1) it is slow compared to some others I have used in the past. (2) It is very annoying to do banking with Bit Defender installed. As soon as I log into a bank website, it asks me if I want to use "safe pay" for that bank site. I say no. That should be the end of it right? Noooo! Bit Defender asks the same question a dozen times or more as I browse through my account.

Take it from someone who's been in IT for a long (really long) time... there are more bad actors and the threats are getting more sophisticated every day. I will never buy another software from Amazon again. This is the second piece of software that doesn't install properly. It tells me I have only 18 months on my subscription when I paid for 24 months. It will also not let me install the limited VPN - telling me my trial period is over - even after I installed the newly purchased version. Installation is very confusing with numerous passwords being needed and being asked for a password numerous times. There is no phone number to reach help/assistance. The trial software I had worked great for the free period - but try installing the paid version without confusion!! Ha! I had to email the company in England for help - we will see if i ever hear from them. If they try to auto renew, I will likely close the credit card before they charge it so they cannot auto renew. No instructions were given for installation or enabling various security features. There were also no instructions on how to turn off auto renew. I'm quite frustrated with Bitdefender and likely I will just uninstall whatever parts were installed on my desktop - and be rid of it. I really am VERY unhappy with this Bitdefender Total Security 2024 software.

UPDATE: Bitdefender emailed and said my subscription was extended a month to August 2025!! That's still wrong - should be December 2025. Tired of the hassle. I have now uninstalled Bitdefender off my computer and installed Avast.

Was a bit surprised to receive a printed out letter with with code and instructions (rather than an 'official' Bitdefender voucher card, or something similar), and was worried it might be a scam.
However, went to the official Bitdefender homepage, created an account, entered the code, which was immediately recognised and installed the software - all is perfect.
So, don't immediately be put off when you open the package.
