This sword is a fun well balanced sword, it has some decent heft but I am strong so I don't even notice. It came wrapped in a box inside a box in some plastic with a tip protector. The oil they had sent it with had dried out but this was most likely a one off, i scrubbed it a little with soap and water and then oiled it myself and it took on a beautiful shine. The wood is a little darker than the photograph but it matches the sheath which although only leather is well crafted and fits the sword well. For the price it is a real bargain and the sword is beautiful. Its a bit shorter than some viking age blades but it is within standards for the time period and its balance allows for great speed. It seems to be peened pommel and is tightly fitted and then cleanly covered as many swords of the time were. The hilt appears to be a Götland style similar to the albion vinland sword. The steel fittings on the pommel and guard are essential to not only the period accuracy but to the weight and balance of the piece, the handle is slightly large but I have bear paws for hands so changing grip for me is easy. I am not beyond swapping out the sheath for something custom but the sword alone is worth the cost and the stainless polishes up very nicely despite it not being period accurate. For the modern swordsman its a fantastic buy and I do recommend it.

Brought this sword I just purchased to a friend who is a knife making smith. Larry's option is that this is a 'Damascus styled blade' not as advertised. Firstly the blade was warped, anyone putting the effort to folding metal 176 times would not leave it warped. When we scraped the surface, maybe achieved with an acid treatment, it revealed no depth to its "layering". Also the pummel end was glued on with a broken screw I have to tap out lodged in it, the picture shows the pummel's glue and snapped screw. This probably indicates that it is also not a full tang sword. The sword does feel excellent when wielded. I payed 129.99 which is a fair price for this sword, it is just advertised as something it is not.

It is a nice looking, heavy and rather sharp Anglo-Saxon replica sword, with a true Damascus folded blade. The hilt, guard and pommel are solid and almost lend to a correct balance (true balance is two inches up blade from hand guard). The sword arrived in good packaging and was well wrapped and secured.

This is not the best of reproductions, but the deficiencies are somewhat minor. The blade does have a turning bend and the handle has a quarter inch bend to one side (only noticeable when held). The hilt/handle is nice looking however the resin they used could have been applied with a little more care and consideration to the final look.
