I almost returned this mount because while I was trying to loosen the tension by turning to the left it never got loose enough to let my monitor move up and down. This is not righty tighty, left loosey. It is clearly stated on the plastic cover, which I did not have on while adjusting the tension. I only noticed this when I was boxing it up to be returned. It is also clearly stated in the directions. My bad! Now it works great and is easy to move around. Would definitely buy another if needed. Will give an update in about a year regarding its longevity.

This has a sensible solution for supporting the cantilevered weight of the monitor, the top centerline of the mount takes two long lag bolts and the bottom takes one more to make sure that the mount doesn't tend to swing even when the monitor is off to the side. I have mounted a 32" screen on this and the springing of the arm is perfect for allowing it to be moved up and down. The bearing that allows the arm to articulate is relatively large. The mounting plate for the monitor is detached and easy to mount to the screen, so you don't have to hold the screen in one hand while inserting screws with the other. Once the plate is mounted it's easy to slide onto the end of the arm and secure with a thumb screw. As usual on this type of inexpensive stand the friction bolt that keeps the monitor from rotating down under its own weight is hard to tighten adequately. But it is possible. In the end it's a thoroughly adequate solution for mounting a 32" monitor to a wall.
