Quick Plant Care Tips
SUNLIGHT
Plant in an area that receives full sun (6-8 hours a day).
PLANTING
Dig hole 3x wider than root ball and just as deep. Position tree and make sure it's level. Backfill and tamp down soil.
WATER
Once established, provide a deep watering once every 1-2 weeks. If soil is drying near the surface, water the tree.
FERTILIZING
Figs don't require fertilizing, but if you want to bolster the tree's growth, do it in early spring. Use a slow-released formula like 10-10-10.

Chicago Hardy Fig
This fig tree arrived very well secured with in the box. The seller has extra cardboard flaps that are metal stapled into the box supporting the plant. I wanted a 3 gallon because I needed the plant to be further along with its growth so I did expect to see surplus roots and planned to root prune. The roots did wrap around the top and the bottom but they were able to be pruned back with a sharp hoe and pruners. I planted the tree a couple of weeks ago and it is thriving (small leaf buds protruding). I had called several large nurseries and Internet researched, and could not find any place that had Chicago Hardy Fig in stock. I’m very happy to have been able to find it on Amazon for a reasonable price.

I got the tree about 4 weeks ago. All the leaves you see have grown since then. Obviously a pretty healthy specimen. It has easily added 8 inches or more in height. The only thing that will make it better is if I get some figs this summer after I move it outside

Look at a picture in advertising, look good for the money. But the fig tree make me disappointed!
