This card reader works well, but the plastic that was used feels pretty thin. Like if you were to squeeze it hard with your fingers it would snap. I'm not sure if that would actually happen, but that's just how it feels. For whatever cost savings that allowed the manufacturer, the unfortunate side effect is it makes the product seem of lesser quality. Other than that, I'm happy with it. Needed it for my Steam Deck when it was having issues and I had to try to diagnose it. I like having the option of USB A on one end and USB C on the other end.

I recently built a new PC and it didn't have a card reader built into the case I bought. I don't use memory cards all that often, but I occasionally do. Tried the adapter this weekend with a microSD card I had some video files on. I needed to transfer them to my new computer and it was lightning fast! I forgot I had it and started moving files with an old microSD to USB adapter I had and it was painfully slow. I luckily remembered I bought this and switched to it and it was going at least 5x faster! Definitely worth the price!

I am going on a trip soon and was looking for some way to connect the memory card from my Nikon Coolpix B500 digital camera to my phone. This works great for that purpose however get yourself a short USB c extension cable as I was unable to use this with my case on. Glad I got an extension. It does work for android. Although the packaging does not say so. I have a galaxy s22 and had no issues reading micro and standard SD cards.

If your computer is anything like mine, all the USB ports are lined up in a row. As soon as you plug this in, it encroaches on USB plugs on both sides. It's too wide. And then you've got to use an end slot to even get an SD card into it. The caps for each USB end will be lost on the second day of use. This item should have had a short cord between the USB that gets plugged in and the slot for the SD card. Works, but difficult to use.
