This, of course, made me very nervous, and I immediately thought that it was the gasket that had become loose, and wasn't keeping the material inside the blade cup. Well, yeah, exactly. Upon inspecting, I realized how loose fitting that blade actually is, but there didn't seem to be any spaces where I could detect potential leaking. Well, that's until you fill it with water, and you can see where the structural weakness is as the blade moves up and down. It's understandable, because the blade must move, but what it means is that you must make sure you have the cup all the way in, secure, and straight.
Once that was done, there were no further issues. Love the grinder, in fact. My sugar was soft and powdery. There's plenty of room for high quantity (and making something like confectioner's sugar is much easier more at a time). Love that it's metal and thus easy to clean, and doesn't absorb smells. I've also done my spice mixes for tomato sauce, and a broth for lentils.
Would absolutely recommend and even gift this.
The cup is larger than our previous single press grinders. I like that.
The lid is transparent so keep an eye on your grind till it gets fine enough for your needs. The lid squeezes onto the top of your grind cup so if you turn counter clockwise and lift it you will pull the cup up with it. So turn clockwise and lift. Not sure how long that rubber rim will hold up. You might see a day where it doesn't hold tight enough for the grind to run unless you are pushing down on it. But that's just speculation.
If you plug it in first before using and then take the lid off be careful. The blade is still spinning uncovered for a second or two if you pull that lid straight away. BE MINDFUL! I'd pull the lid enough to stop the blades but not so far off that anything could accidentally make it's way into the cup before they stop.
Package includes a coffee scooper with a scoop on one end and a brush on the other end. Nice little touch so I don't have to keep track of 2 more small things in my spoon drawer.
I do like it but I wish it was a little cheaper. You can get a one touch coffee grinder for $20 bucks although they might be louder. We have been wrapping a dish towel around our current failing grinder for months and that seems to dull the noise so I don't know if the extra 10 bucks is worth how much quieter this might be. What else on your shopping list could benefit more from that 10 bucks?
Over all it looks nice and feels solid and it is quiet compared to our last 2 grinders. I wish the lid was a turn to lock with a button to activate. I also wish it had a dial to time the grind. I think this would be a better deal at $25 bucks. It's MIC but I wish it was MIA.

First of all it is notable larger than my old grinder. I have not tried to do larger amounts of spices yet, but it easily handles the normal amounts of cumin/coriander/fennel etc that go into my BBQ rubs.
The clear lid has a seal that keeps the spice powers from leaking out while grinding. Not a huge deal for me but seems like a decent feature.
Most notably to me, the metal bowl of this grider is easily removable for cleaning. That is a huge improvement over my old grinder in that it makes cleaning the spice residues so much easier.
All in all seems well built and made it easy to part ways with my old trusty grinder (with the cracked plastic top).
The "hidden cord storage" is a nice feature in theory, but in reality it is kind of cumbersome to get the cord all in there, and I doubt I use it and instead added a velcro cable tie.
I did not see much use in the included scoop/brush. (the scoop did not appear to be marked with an amount at all either) so that was discarded....but the grinder itself is very nice.
