The refurbished camcorder came as advertised, including the S-Video throughput mentioned in the product specification. This device allows any analog source (i.e. a VCR) to "pass through" the digital circuitry then output as a digital signal to computer for highest quality video preservation. I am completely satisfied with this purchase!
One final note on this product: These folks provide a tremendous service and should be acknowledged for it! Refurbishing these obsolete digital cameras is the only opportunity to retrieve old home movie footage from Hi8 tapes. Some commenters complain that it's "not new," 'lacking original packaging," or (the best!) "It costs much more than my old video camera." People simply don't understand the expertise involved to get an old machine operationally back to functional standards. Thank you for the amazing and professional workmanship!
