    This is very nice radio. I bought it for emergency, typhoon and others. For this purpose, most important is current consumption. In my real experiment, it operated 11 days or 260 hours with following condition.Maybe, on package, there are printed about 90 hours, and I think it was tested with alkaline battery.This is perfect emergency goods.- Battery : energizer lithium AA x 2 pcs, not alkaline.- Volume : Maybe, 20%, very small.The battery has 20 years shelf life from the datasheet of energizer.It means the self discharge and the leakage of internal chemical materials.So, summarized, with the zipper back + lithium battery + radio + silica gel,I can it store about 20 years.It is perfect to me.

    It's really light and small + feels like a toy, but the sound quality on good reception is perfectly functional. The antenna is tall but the box is very stable; I can have it upright on full height and it will keep standing even if I bump into the table (albeit lightly). I chose this one after watching the review video on Youtube and am glad I got it. And since it's analog, I should be able to use it in different countries as well. I can't wait for my next trip!

    Well that I personally found out my other SONY ICF-M410V. Does work after many years. This pocket radio has a good tuner especially AM Band. The clear broadcast, and the speaker. For me I made a choice to purchase this SONY Pocket Radio. If I would give a gift to someone who has everything this is the Radio I would send.

    I still listen to radio so I bought this. I've always appreciated Sony design and quality in the past. This still has pretty good design in terms of style, but the performance is definitely not up to past Sony standards. Tuning and reception isn't the greatest (hate the truncated tuning scale), especially considering the fact I live in LA and not some remote area. I don't get clear reception on major stations, and trust me I have other radios! Also wish it supported stereo for earphones. External speaker is tinny, but I don't expect much there. But, this was around $25 and a more trustworthy brand compared to what I saw on Amazon. This is why I bought it. However, I would've gladly paid $10-15 more if they improved performance (tuning and stereo). Focus on performance and quality Sony!

    The Sony ICF-P27 is a modern re-design of the classic "transistor radio" that has been around since the early 1960s. Superficially, it appears to be very similar to its predecessor, the ICF-P26, but instead of the P-26's conventional analogue design, the P-27 uses digital signal processing both for tuning and for the extraction of the audio signal. Unlike similar circuit designs from other manufacturers, the Sony implementation works very smoothly and provides a very nice analogue "feel" to the tuning on both AM and FM bands. The audio quality using the small built-in speaker is about as good as might be expected, but listening to the radio through a headset reveals good frequency response, low distortion, and low noise, even on the AM band. Conclusion: A great little radio in the Sony tradition.

    desde que lo vi en la miniatura supe que era el indicado. es un diseño muy elegante con terminados minimalistas (nada de biseles, tornillos, bordes, etc. -es un pequeño ladrillo-) y aunque es un producto económico (sé que hay opciones más baratas en otras marcas, pero en sony es la opción más económica) hecho en china la experiencia es muy gratificante ya que siempre corresponde a la conocida calidad de cualquier sony. ahora que lo tengo en la mano y con el parlante encendido puedo decir que ha superado cualquier expectativa. me gusta mucho, incluso a veces sólo lo enciendo por el puro placer de contemplar su magia de portabilidad radiofónica y dejarme llevar.

    Just want a small, no bells and whistles radio for emergencies or that is reasonably packable? This is a good one. Small, tidy, a few buttons and thats it. Nothing more than a simple AM/FM radio, with more than decent sound for the size and great reception/tuning. You can overspend all day long on a little radio, but this one is just fine and serves its purpose well. Battery life in this is quite good as well.

    The sound is good but the tuning is very fine. I find that the stations I want take up a fraction of the tuning scale. A digital scale would be more useful as I also have trouble finding the right station. It arrived well packaged with all the instructions needed. I did have to supply the two AA batteries.
