Beautiful effortless Zinnias
These grow to be beautiful multicolor zinnias! Last year I started them indoors and transferred into the container pictured. They were drought tolerant and grew into fall! This year I decided I’d just sprinkle them into the container and spread some soil over them, and they’re growing just fine! Truly an effortless and beautiful flower. & the bees do love them!

I planted these seeds back in ... gosh, a while ago. Definitely no later than May and maybe April. I might have been impatient or lazy (probably both) but after a month or so, I hadn't seen much progress and sort of gave up on them. I went away for a bit and let the garden get overgrown with weeds. But suddenly a couple of weeks ago, lo and behold, I realized that there were tall leafy stems growing up above the weeds -- outcompeting the weeds, even -- and they had little buds at the top. Hooray for the zinnias! It turns out they're strong, badass flowers. Now they're all popping into bloom and they look just lovely. (And now I'm inspired to properly weed the garden.)
