I've seen a few reviews that the MagMod Grip 2 cannot fit the GODOX V1 round head flash... well, it does, but it's extremely difficult to get on. I bought the GODOX V1 & the MagMod kit at the same time and for 15 minutes I couldn't get it on. I did not want to return the MagMod so I was very determined to make it work. I ended up watching YouTube videos on how to put it on and after 30 minutes I finally got it. It will never come off because it was just that difficult... You will hurt your fingers, but once you kind of get the hang of it, you'll eventually get it, it's just extremely difficult and frustrating, and requires patience if you really want this to work. Hope this helps.

The price could be a bit lower but it does its job very well so It's not that bad.
Getting the rubber thing onto the flash was hard and we needed 2 people to get it on our AD200 and V1. But because it's hard I don't think it will come off easily.
The dome is great, good quality light and diffusion, I use it mostly for events and weddings but starting to use it more for Real estate photography as well since it's pretty diffused.
Should have include the honeycomb grid or CTO gels in my opinion with this price but that's fine

I found this Magmod fairly easy to put together, although make sure to eat your wheaties before trying to install the magnet-base on the flash. It took quite a bit of stretching to get it on my Canon 580EX II flash. Once it's on then installing the bubble diffusion filter is a breeze. The diffusion filter has magnets that are attracted to the magnets on the base. The magnets are pretty strong so the filter stays in place no matter how much you manhandle it.

This is great, because during a busy wedding, the last thing you want is to be seen fumbling around with equipment that is constantly falling to the ground. What I found a little odd, is that the bubble filter on the Magmod does not fit flush against the magnet base. There is space at the top and space at the bottom. I don't think that this affects the picture quality, but I'm guessing that it does take some power away from the flash.

I compared the Magmod against my other light modifiers which includes: The Gary Fong Lightsphere, Wescott Micro Softbox, Lumiquest mini softbox, Altura 6x5" softbox and of course the Sto Fen Omni-bounce diffuser. All of these are much cheaper than the Magmod Flash diffuser.

I wanted to find out which one would do a better job in softening the light, preventing harsh shadows, reducing glare, etc. I was expecting the Magmod to come out on top after all the money I paid for it, but that was not the case. Actually I could hardly tell the difference between all of these diffusers ? Some were a little better than others, some a little worse, but not by much.

The Sto Fen Omni bounce, the cheapest and simplest of the bunch came in last in my opinion, but again not by much. What the Sto Fen has going for it is convenience. You plug it on your flash head and forget about it.

To my surprise, the Wescott Micro softbox came out on top($29) as far as softening/eliminating harsh shadows, however the installation is very flimsy, not stable at all ! It was about a tie between the Magmod, Gary Fong, Lumiquest mini SB and Altura SB. The Gary Fong came out slightly on top in my opinion, but the weight negated any gains.

The good thing about the Magmod is that it is very light, that means it won't put a lot of pressure on your flash, or camera hot-shoe(Like the Gary Fong). It's also very easy to pack and is very stable. Not as stable as the Sto Fen, but you wont have to worry much about it comming off during a busy wedding. Another good thing about the Magmod is that it does not Tint the image(Altura SB) even under extreme lighting conditions like some others modifiers do. So maybe it was worth all that money ? Maybe...
