I used epoxy to fix the magnet falling out of housing only to have the mount fall apart 5 weeks later. Great concept but poor overall quality..... Guess I have to buy the aluminum one made by blendmount
Well I don't like to flame a product with a 1 star review across the board but this one deserves it. Fell apart on the first day of use, literally..... the magnetic pod fell out of the holder and dropped my radar detector. I would not use or recommend this product to anyone. Junk!

Great mounting concept but lacking in implementation and quality control testing

Firstly, I think this mounting solution is a great idea. Anyone who has owned Escort radar detectors for years knows that the included suction type mounts simply wear out over time. I've tried a number of different mounts including rear view mirror mounts and they just don't seem to do the trick. Lots of rattling due to weight and tend to loosen over time. That said, I question if LycoGear did any actual testing with this product. The two parts when connected due not create a very strong mount point and are quite loose which causes lots of bouncing. Also, I am not sure yet if this is a issue with all of them but the first unit I received the magnet constantly comes out of the mount itself and remains strongly stuck to the radar instead of the mount. Once in this state it's quite difficult to remove the magnet from the detector itself due to the strength of both the mount magnet and the internal magnet on the detector (I have to use something large and metal to get it out like a toolbox.) I have tried reaching out to LycoGear but so far had trouble. Their website is severely broken and most links due not work. Sadly, I may have to return all of these mounts due to lack of quality control and lack of customer support.

Run, don't walk away from this radar detector mount. Your detector will wobble when this is installed but the real danger is that it will come lose from the magnet and come for you or or front seat passenger and could cause serious injury . This product is a law suit about to happen. It's cheap but could cause some real medical bills .
