I'm very particular about the music I download (very selective list). And this is in fact the first CD since the MP3's became a thing. And, I love this. I've played it over and over again. Now, I just wish I could have attended. Those people are having a great time. And for me, they just don't make music to the quality of the 70's these days.

Several of the complaints around this revolve around the lack of surround-sound. I'm very much into surround-sound for movies, video games, and (to a much lesser extent) studio-recorded/mixed music. But for live music concerts, what is it about surround-sound that your seeking...are there significant "locational" elements that you want to experience?

I have hundreds of live concerts on BD and DVD, and most of them do have surround audio tracks...but I can't say that I need directional audio beyond stereo; it's more about the overall sound quality when played from a home theater system. Several of the concerts I have include audio tracks in DTS-HD MA or Dolby TrueHD, and those don't necessarily sound "good" because of the directional aspects...it's more about filling the room with "good" sound, and many of them just, don't. If I really want to immerse myself in the concert, I've found that listening with quality headphones is a better experience.

For this concert specifically, it does sound "weird" for the sound to only be coming from the front speakers (when listening via home theater)...although that is easily rectified by enabling a surround-sound "upmix" on the stereo audio. It then "fills the room" due to the rear speakers being used, and doesn't really sound different than many of the concerts with surround-sound tracks.

This is a great concert; don't pass it up just because of the stereo audio.

I am a 58 year old, classically trained musician. That matters only for one reason. When I watch a concert Blu Ray I want close ups of the musicians. But there are exceptions because of the performers and Jeff Lynne is one of them. I just saw his concert in Philly, outstanding. I own every album, and have all of the songs on in my library already. I wanted the concert and was not disappointed. The concert experience is all part of why I have attended live music my entire life. The Blu Ray showed so many aspects of the concert that I can see a purist saying I don’t care about the crowd. Well I do, they bring the show to life as much as the lights and the music. This is an outstanding Blu Ray and yes it works on an American Blu Ray and has “Roll over Beethoven “. I will add the live music to my library and expect it will be as fantastic. If you are looking for something that reminds you of the show you saw, what it is like to be there live. This is awesome. Just to watch the security dance with the fans on “Roll Over Beethoven “ was awesome. During our concert I kept my eyes on the stage and the big screen. But when I looked around I saw positive energy coming from 18,000 people and then I started watching them. Ignore the 1’s. I get not having 5.1, except in my Man Cave I have a sound board and bass and it was incredible. This is a 5 plus and well worth the money for the number of songs you get.

Any ELO fan will love this DVD/CD set. I've been an ELO fan since '75. But Classic rock radio doesn't play ELO like in the past. So, when I heard these songs on YouTube then got the DVD/CD set, I'm embarrassed to say that I forgot how good ELO's music is. I literally rediscovered Jeff, his music, songs I've never heard and his band, with Jeff being the only original member in this set. Richard Tandy, Jeff's original pianist is not on this set due to health reasons. But Richard's back-up makes up for it. Wembley is an iconic stadium. The sound is incredible, nothing short of brilliant. Jeff's intentions was to recreate his songs like the recordings and there's no disappointment. The 3 intermittent scenes are fabulous, with band member interviews, stage shots, quick scenes of London and Jeff's mind at work. Even Jeff comments how incredible this show is. The crew did splendid. It is actually a rediscovery. Thank you, Jeff, the band and crew.
