This box set has some of there hits and and unreleased music. If your a ELO fan you will like this box set. I had this box set years a go but lost it moveing. It was at the top of my list of music I need to replace over the years going from cassette and LPs to CDs. Am very happy with this buy

I wanted to add some music from ELO and this CD has all of their best songs. I especially like the song Kuiama (if I spelled it right).

Sure this box set is for hardcore fans. Most box sets are. We already have all the well known songs and don't mind getting them again as long as we can uncover a few previously unreleased tracks. Any ELO song is a GOOD song. We have to have them all. So if you love the Electric Light Orchestra, then you need to get AFTERGLOW. It is awesome!

As a long time fan of ELO I had never really heard anything more than the jusual hits until recently. I'm an OTR truck driver and I spend a lot of time listening to music on YouTube and just recently decided to go back and listen to everything ELO released. After doing some careful research, I decided to get this box set and I'm glad I did. This is the only box set you're going to find with the outtakes from Secret Messages and a lot of the B-sides from the 80's on it. It has 3 discs, labeled E, L, and O. E goes chronologically through their first 5 albums with 2 from No Answer, 4 from ELO2, 3 from On the Third Day, 2 from Eldorado and one from Face The Music. L is a panoramic representation of their hits from the 70's starting with Evil Woman and ending with Don't Bring Me Down. It doesn't exactly go chronologically because it mixes songs from Face The Music and New World Record together, but after that you have 5 from Out Of The Blue and 2 from Discovery. It even has some songs that aren't on the other compilations like So Fine, Sweet Is The Night and Steppin' Out and is a great collection of hits from their heyday. The only thing it's missing is Fire On High, but other than that, is a great disc. O is the outtake disc with 50% of it consisting of previously unreleased songs from the 80's, including several songs from the originally intended Secret Messages double album and B-sides from Time and Balance of Power. 2 things that don't really make sense are that Shine A Little Love got shoved in the middle of the Time section and they didn't include Calling America. Other than that, I love this box set. Sure, the remastering isn't as good as what we have now, but it's not awful either. I think it sounds great and it's great driving music. If you like to collect rare songs and want a great collection of ELO's best songs, I recommend this box set.
