The 5 metal (not fabric loops) D ring anchor points on each HandiRack allow you to safely secure your load using a pair of 10ft heavy duty tie downs (included). All metal components are treated with an anti-corrosion coating.

The main fitting strap is 1.5 inches wide and is polypropylene with a polymer waterproof coating. All stitching is nylon.

Handi Tips

A detailed User Manual is included with each HandiRack. These additional tips are designed to help you to maximise the performance of your HandiRack and make the installation process as effortless as possible.

  • Before installation make sure the car roof is clean and dry
  • Always install the HandiRack on your vehicle deflated
  • Ensure that the fitting strap is secured and tensioned before inflating. This process helps to create a stable connection between the HandiRack and the roof of the car.
  • Once inflated correctly the bars will not move. If there is movement, repeat the installation process.
  • In hot temperatures, do not over inflate the bars as the air inside will expand. In cold termperatures, add a little more air.
  • In wet conditions secure the V flaps to the underside of the HandiRack using the Velcro pads
  • Use the Bow and Stern lines to secure your load to the front and rear of your vehicle to maximise stability during transit
  • Do not leave the HandiRack on the vehicle when not in use

I throw the rack and my kayak on my Honda civic and my Mazda 6 and it fits perfectly. Super easy to put together and put away. I recently did a 4 hour drive with rough roads and bumps and twists and turns and my kayak didn’t budge. I’m honestly really impressed.Two things to note but I wouldn’t even consider them cons:1. Rain will get into your car because it travels down the straps that secure the rack to the top of your car. But I can’t see how handirack could design it any differently - it’s just the price you have to pay for having a easy to install strap based roof rack.2. The ropes they give you to strap the front and back end of the kayak weren’t my personal choice because you have to hand tie them down. So I just got some kayak straps that have a mechanism that is easy to pull and tighten.But yes, overall I’m super impressed and grateful for this product. I never write reviews but as I was going to purchase my second handirack, I thought I should show some love for the product that has gotten me and my kayak out on the water so much over the past year and a half I’ve had it.

I’ve lugged around my 80# hobie kayak all over and it never budges. I throw the rack and my kayak on my Honda civic and my Mazda 6 and it fits perfectly. Super easy to put together and put away. I recently did a 4 hour drive with rough roads and bumps and twists and turns and my kayak didn’t budge. I’m honestly really impressed.

Two things to note but I wouldn’t even consider them cons:

1. Rain will get into your car because it travels down the straps that secure the rack to the top of your car. But I can’t see how handirack could design it any differently - it’s just the price you have to pay for having a easy to install strap based roof rack.

2. The ropes they give you to strap the front and back end of the kayak weren’t my personal choice because you have to hand tie them down. So I just got some kayak straps that have a mechanism that is easy to pull and tighten.

But yes, overall I’m super impressed and grateful for this product. I love kayaking and bought the expensive kayak, but didn’t want to spend a ton of money on also figuring out a vehicle with a roof rack situation. And this handirack was the way for me to avoid doing that.

I’m buying a second one only because I want to have a back up in my trunk always just in case I leave my handirack at home and I need to haul something when I’m out and about.

I’ve lugged around my 80# hobie kayak all over and it never budges. I throw the rack and my kayak on my Honda civic and my Mazda 6 and it fits perfectly. Super easy to put together and put away. I recently did a 4 hour drive with rough roads and bumps and twists and turns and my kayak didn’t budge. I’m honestly really impressed.

Two things to note but I wouldn’t even consider them cons:

1. Rain will get into your car because it travels down the straps that secure the rack to the top of your car. But I can’t see how handirack could design it any differently - it’s just the price you have to pay for having a easy to install strap based roof rack.

2. The ropes they give you to strap the front and back end of the kayak weren’t my personal choice because you have to hand tie them down. So I just got some kayak straps that have a mechanism that is easy to pull and tighten.

But yes, overall I’m super impressed and grateful for this product. I love kayaking and bought the expensive kayak, but didn’t want to spend a ton of money on also figuring out a vehicle with a roof rack situation. And this handirack was the way for me to avoid doing that.

I’m buying a second one only because I want to have a back up in my trunk always just in case I leave my handirack at home and I need to haul something when I’m out and about.

First off, it didn’t even take 10 minutes to set up. You just unroll them, tie them down, and inflate. I thought I was going to get a work out, but was pleasantly surprised the hand pump worked quickly.

I’m short so picking up a kayak and putting it on the roof of any car is clumsy at best and often hysterical for on-lookers. Not today!

I just hoisted the edge of the kayak on and slid it into position. Fastest I’ve ever gotten a kayak on a car roof. Could do that with bars, but often worried about damage. With these, the inflatable tubes felt cushioned and safe.

I used the included straps and skipped the bow/stern line. I used my own bungee cords using the D Rings on the rack. Gave it a good shake to make sure it was secure. Drove cautiously home from the store. Proceeded to whip around. No budging! Also, quiet! With regular racks, there’s also some noise. Not these bad boys.

I saw the hack about pool noodles, but haven’t tried that yet. Excited to try loading 2 kayaks on my roof.

It fits my2014 buick enclave perfectly. I healed an 80 lb canoe 3 hours going 65with no issues. It kept my car from being scratched, and is so much more affordable than to buy an actual roof rack. It can be difficult to air up sometimes because the handpump feel very cheap. I recommend buying a different hand pump or using an electric one. The ONLY reason it get 4 stars. So i would say it's more like 4 1/2 stars. Still very durable, convenient and very nice over all

Had high expectations as an alternative to permanent roof racks, but using the pump that comes with these is useless; don’t bother. Tried to inflate by my breathe and that too couldn’t get enough air to provide adequate support. Wish I had access to a compressor to inflate these; being returned. They seem well made if there was only a small electric inflator included these would be a decent roof rack alternative

I'm returning it, but at no fault to the product. I was going out of town to pick up a boat to bring back a small boat I wanted to restore, but it wasn't structurally sound enough to risk carrying on a roof. But I thought the roof rack was nice enough to warrant a review. It's really well made, with thick material, and goes in place in just a could of minutes. If you're tall like me, the strap that goes across the inside of the roof will bump your head, but it's not low enough to obstruct vision.
It should also play nicely with the racks that run lengthwise on your vehicle, giving them padding across the width. A solid purchase.
