Unreadable LCD screen ruins otherwise great calculator
I really want to like this calculator. The keyboard feels great and the design is beautiful. It reminds me of the Braun calculator the iPhone calculator app is based on. The sales tax function is awesome, and it also supports sales taxes with decimal places like where I live. It is just small enough to fit in a pocket, but it is just big enough to use as a desktop calculator.However, the screen can only be used if you are looking straight down at it. I took a picture of this. If you are sitting at your desk and use the calculator, you won’t be able to see the number you are typing. I have to pick it up and use it in my hand to see it, even in natural office conditions. It is a shame the screen is much worse than other calculators. If it had a similar screen to other cheap calculators, I would give it a 5 star review.

The small keys measure approximately 3/8 inch in diameter and while it is possible to do some simple calculations by touch there is no raised area on the 5 key to help fingers stay properly positioned so speed is limited. This unit is a basic model but does have a built-in tax rate feature and square root key. There is no off button but after 7 minutes it automatically shuts down. Nice economical calculator.

This 8 digit compact calculator measures 3 by 4 3/4 inches and has a surprisingly large 3/4 by 2 1/2 inch LCD display so it is easy to read. It is duo-powered with a solar cell and one LR1130 button lithium battery which according to the included instruction sheet should last 18 months if the device is used 1 hour a day. Replacing the battery will require a small cross-head (Phillips) screwdriver. Overall the device is lightweight but still has a quality feel.Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2019
