So I got these instead of the name brand due to the price. The hole for the seed is not deep enough, and my germinated seeds are having a hard time with no root space. I had to put a wet paper towel over the seedling to protect to exposed roots. I highly recommend drilling out the hole a but more. Besides that, it's pretty much the same as others I have used.

These have much more of a sponge-like texture than the name brand seed starting plugs. The sponge is so difficult to work with, that it isn’t possible to cover the seed. It doesn’t work with slightly larger seeds such as cucumbers. I won’t be purchasing again.

Edit: changing my review from 2 stars to 1 star. My germination rate was significantly lower than it was using the name brand plugs. A few of my seedlings were so weak, that they broke shortly after emerging. Poor product.
