The PS3 original is fantastic- probably my personal favorite in the series- but there is no denying this is the definitive edition of the game. Everything you loved about the original is still here with graphical updates and quality of life additions. A can’t miss modern classic for JRPG fans. The one word of caution I’d put out there for those new to the Persona series or those potentially buying this as a gift- Persona games are quite lengthy, this one clocking in just shy of 100 hours. Make sure whoever will be playing this has the time and patience for a longer game.

I've finished Persona 5, but so far I'm actually enjoying this game more. If you've played P5 or any of the other games in the series, you'll already be accustomed to most of the mechanics in the game. If you haven't, the game is kind of a high school sim with periodic exploration and combat. Fighting is turn-based, and each member of your party is able to summon a powerful being that lets them use magic.

I would like to say this is the first time I played persona 3 I also have portable on steam but opted for this to come out before playing it and decided to dip on the PlayStation version of portable and play FemC route... anyway I will wait to do that I beat reload a few days ago and played around release... It is a good game with improvements that high light how old school personal was and while what they changed was not major it made this game shin brighter. Lots are mad they did not add FemC but I can agree with them not doing it with it being in portable people would not play the older game plus modders can fix that issue. Thank you Atlus the ending got to me! Now to wait for The Answer! Also note I want portable on PlayStation to platinum.ad I platinum Reload on first playthrough,.

Persona 3 Reload is a classic reborn. Atlus has taken the core of the original Persona 3 with it's story and themes and improved upon a lot of its fundamentals that were implemented in Persona 4 and 5. When I was 14, I played P3FES for the first time on the PS2. I was thoroughly impressed by the beautiful story, complex characters, and fun gameplay, but I felt it wasn't reaching its fullest potential due to the hardware at the time (and some questionable mechanics). This remake is exactly what I had hoped it would be back then, while still maintaining what made the original game so great and poignant. Even though time has passed, I feel the story and overall themes of the game still hold up really well today. I recommend it to anyone whose looking for a thought provoking rpg or just a great narrative in general.

- The rewind system makes viewing results of different choices faster. Rather than making a save file then loading a save file over and over if you were just curious about what happens if you chose a different choice
- All the difficulty settings are fair and balanced (except for the Reaper cheese)
- Story and environment were more or less preserved, no modernization here (e.g. still using wired earphones, flip phones and other early 2000s tech and fashion)
- Fantastic music and slick UI elements

Negatives:
Major complaints
- Lack of female protagonist which could have doubled the replay value
- Maxing out the social links in one playthrough is impossible without following a strict guide
Minor complaints
- Minimap could show more information like destroyable stuff for loot
- Can't view active Arcanas at any time (you can only see them during shuffle time)
- Can't view the description of active Arcanas (the game expects that you memorize what each one does based on a tiny image at the bottom left)
- Can't cancel shuffle time, if an Arcana you don't want appears and there is no other choice, you will have to take that Arcana
