Battery Maintenance for iRobot Roomba Replacement R3 500 600 700 800 900 Series:

Works, but battery life is short
My Roomba is 6 years old, and I use it a couple times a week in individual bedrooms. The original battery used to be able to handle 2 bedrooms no problem without needing a charge, but now it can barely make it through one room, which is why I got this battery. I made sure my Roomba model was among the listed models for this battery, which it was. I switched it out as soon as it came in and put the Roomba on it's charging station. I ran it the next day in the biggest bedroom, and it needed to charge about the same time as the old battery. Basically, it works, but it works as well as my 6 year old used battery.It looks almost identical to my original Roomba battery (in the picture, it is the top one that says iRobot). However, l looked at the amps, and it has only 1800mAh whereas the OEM battery has double the amps of 3600mAh. I can't really complain about the amps, since it explicitly says in the description that it is 1800mAh, but I'll knock it down a star because I'm sure other buyers would also be disappointed with the battery life.

My Roomba works like it’s new again

When I moved across the country my Roomba 675 ended up sitting in storage longer than anticipated. I didn’t know I was supposed to remove the battery if the vacuum wouldn’t be used for an extended period of time so when I finally got it unpacked and plugged in the original battery wasn’t working like it had in the past. The old battery was good for about 30 minutes of run time and I suspect during that time it was only operating at half capacity because my floors weren’t really clean when I used it which is why I got this replacement battery. My trusty workhorse is back in business now that I installed the new battery. I charged my Roomba overnight and when I turned my vacuum on it ran for almost two hours before I returned it to the dock because the floors are clean. Amazingly it’s still fully charged after running for two I hours straight. It’s also a powerful little vacuum again and with the new brushes it’s able to pick up everything in its path with ease. I included a photo of the bottom of my Roomba 675 with yellow markings to show where I found my Model Number as well as where the screws are located to access the battery on this model. The instructions that came with the battery show a picture of a Roomba that has a designated access panel with two screws to get to the battery which was a little confusing. On the 675 model, I removed the 4 screws very easily and the yellow brush and the battery was underneath. I replaced the old with this one, put the plastic bottom back on with the four screws and put on the new yellow brush. It was very simple but looked slightly different than the instructions so for anyone with my model I hope this helps! This battery is a great way to save the cost of replacing an expensive Roomba and works just as well as the original manufacturers.
