I have an old Pavilion computer with IDE main interface. I pulled the dead drive out and bought this to hopefully make use of some of the smaller old SD cards I had. When I got it, I pushed a 1GB SD card into it, attached it to my new Win10 via an IDE to USB cable and it immediately detected the 1GB drive as a removable USB. I attached it to the Pavilion via IDE cable, and it detected it perfectly. Formatted and installed OS and it works as seamlessly as I had hoped. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone hoping to replace an old platter drive with an SD card via IDE.
