I don't write reviews, but I have to for this. We've had cats for the last 40 years, probably 15 of them in all, and have always been looking for something that will entertain them when we were unavailable - sometimes you do have to do other things, like work, eat, sleep, you know, people things. Electronic balls have been around for maybe 15 years, and they seem like a good idea but are mostly flawed. Maybe the battery runs out too quickly, or the movement is not "alive" enough to imitate the movements of living things - like mice - and the cat loses interest, quickly. Or the cat hair that is invariably on the floor of your home gums up the mechanism that powers the toy - and there's no way to clean it out (looking at you, plastic snake). They all seem like good ideas, but aren't.
So here comes this little toy, and it will delight your cat and make you laugh. The key is - unless your cat is really afraid of it - DON'T USE THE BAG. Just put furry ring on (which, by the way, conceals the clever method the makers give you to clean the hair out of the mechanism!) charge it up, place on the floor, and watch what happens. The movement is fast enough to attract any cat's eye, crazy enough to invite interaction. Like many of these type toys it can get stuck under things, but the erraticness of its behavior limits the number of times you have to disengage it from whatever it has gotten itself into. (If you feel I'm talking about it as if it's alive, I am.) The damn thing makes me chuckle. It's actually funny how it goes about its business.
The only downside of this toy is that the instructions about the different "modes" the toy has is difficult to understand. Doesn't matter, though. Start using it and you'll be motivated the figure the instructions out.

Eh. Not worth the cost but not terrible
Younger cat is into it more than the older oneOnly problem I have is that I’m constantly realigning the bag. As soon as the young guy pounces on it, the bag collapses, and they can no longer see movement inside so they lose interest.So it would be nice if it had a flexible frame (like the way those pop-up cat tunnels do) and maybe grips on the bottom so that it’s more resistant to cat attacks.A DIY alternative (to save money) would be to just get an automatic mouse & put it in a pillowcase.But overall, it’s easy to wash & seems to hold their interest for a few mins.

This is such a fantastic toy! Seeing a video on TikTok led to this purchase. I am really enjoying watching our cat have a blast! You can use it in or out of the bag. I really like that it goes to sleep after 5 minutes and will awaken whenever she's ready to play again!
