Not bad !!! Very impressed!
Not bad for the price!!! I’m a weekend tree guy so these are good enough for me to climb with .. I did have to sharpen one gaff on one of the spurs the other gaff was fine … I could of probably left it alone but I’m very anal about my equipment.. only took a few mins to sharpen and reshape it .. with a hand file ! Of course ! … I feel like the straps for the boots are definitely on the low end side. Would of been nice if they used a little better quality but u get what u pay for ..The padded leg straps are perfect the Velcro was strong !!.. if I start to do more tree jobs frequently I’ll invest in some nice aluminum spurs, but for now, these will do the trick

Like, literally. The same exact gear. The only thing I can say negative about these is the buckle on the leather straps suck monster balls. It's very cheap metal bent to make the shape of the buckle, closed with a rolled piece of thin metal. If it was soldered closed, that would be one thing. But, they're not. I found out when I went to wrench now on them. Popped right apart. I fixed it very easily with a pair of pliers. Bent them back together and pinched the shitty rolled metal back on.

I haven't replaced the leather yet, because they still work. But, just for comfort sake, I'll be switching out to some super strong velcro and nylon sewn together. Cuz, I'm crafty like that.

These do what they are supposed to, they are adjustable and fairly comfortable, I cant say much to their durability as I've only used them like on 4 different jobs but I did notice a little bit of fraying around some of the cloth edges but I have been hard on them so not too surprised and it doesn't effect anything but looks so no big deal for me even if it does get worse.

I was debating getting the gecko brand which are about $500 but these looked and I believe, are functionally the same but even if they aren't I'm more than happy with them, I wish I got them sooner and I think you will too. The Velcro is super nice to be able to really cinch it down which makes it very comfy the only thing I didn't really like is that they labeled left and right in the inside part of the foam and its hard to see but just take a sharpie and copy it on the outside and its fixed.

Just for any newbies remember these are technically not life support so you should always have a flip line but also a rope making a full loop around the tree so it tightens on itself if you can because the flip line may not catch you on its own if its adjusted incorrectly or is just slippery.

Update 10/12/23: So after using them a bit more I have found the weakest link and that is the lower buckle. Oddly enough the little pin that holds the leather strap was fine but the loop that you first put the strap through gave up on one of the spurs. Of course if that happens in the tree that spur is pretty much unusable so that would be very bad. After seeing how thin that little piece of metal is, Id suggest replacing the roll pin right off the bat although I should admit that I cinch them down as tight as I can half because my boots dont have a heel for the bar that you stand on to stay in place so to keep it where its meant to I have to cinch it tight and the other reason is because they are more comfortable to use that way to me.

Also the ring that the strap is attached with has also started to bend on the same one and I would have liked that to be stronger though its ok for now. What I ended up doing is getting a master chain link for a big chain and I replaced the entire loop and roll-pin entirely modifying the existing locking pin (the one that goes in the holes) to work with it but i would not recommend doing this because I had to shave about a 16th of an inch off both sides of the leather to get it to work. A new roll pin would have worked been easier and cheaper as well but the loop was slightly bent so I said screw it.

You could just upgrade the strap to one of the Velcro or quick connect ones and that takes care of it but the entire point of having a budget option is so you can use them until you can upgrade, for the normal guy these may be perfectly usable or even if you tighten those straps with the might of Zeus like me they can be upgraded fairly easily so ill keep 4 stars cuz the rest I love and doesnt feel like a down grade at all but really you shouldn't have to modify any part of it so if that doesn't sound like something you can do, buy with caution and keep an eye on that. especially for the price they ask, they could have spent literally 1.89 on roll pins thicker than a soda can (Tractor supply store price) come on Vevor, thats all ya need for top marks.

I am a arborist I ordered these and the first tree I climbed the medal piece that holds the buckle together broke and the straps are torn after one climb. These are the lower straps other then that the spikes are amazing! Shouldn't be able to sell product that can kill someone just saying.
