Customers like the quality of the charging adapter. For example, they say it works well, runs pedals for hours, and powers neon tubes perfectly. Some say the price is just right and the product is excellent. Overall, most are happy with the quality and performance of this adapter, which is a great value for the price.
"Quick shipment. Works great" Read more
"...This one seems to work well so far. I have 3 of them, the open circuit output voltage ranges from 12.4 to 12.63 volts...." Read more
"...So the DROK step up converter is doing fine. If your trying to power it with a cheap phone charger, your results may not be as good...." Read more
"...This one was the worst performing of all of them...." Read more
Customers are satisfied with the display of the charging adapter. They mention that the voltage display is nice, easy to see the output voltage, and has an 8-segment digital display. They also appreciate the red LED display and the LCD screen that tells them if it's operating at 9 or 12.
"I like how it has an LCD screen that tells you if it's operating at 9 vs 12 volts...." Read more
"...as expect , small slide to change 9V and 12V with 8segment digital display is very good, extra power adapter is plus...." Read more
"...The red LED display is very convenient to confirm the Voltage level." Read more
"...I've tried it with an external HDD and it didn't work. The voltage display is nice but pretty much just eye candy." Read more
Customers are satisfied with the value of the charging adapter. They mention that it is affordable, reliable, and surprised by the quality for the price.

Customers have mixed opinions about the noise produced by the charging adapter. Some find it awesome, eliminating the noise they were getting from their pedals. They say the pure battery power keeps them really quiet, while others say it's very noisy and emits RF.
"...But it produced a high pitch noise so I switch to this one that can operate on 9v and 12v...." Read more
"...So far is being awesome! It eliminated the noise I was getting from my pedals being connected to AC..." Read more
"...only issue I had was one of my USB Battery packs produced an audible hiss in its output that this supply did not filter, but that was the battery..." Read more
"...It does the job fine, but it is very noisy - it emits RF which makes the radio noisy to listen to. It needs RF suppression...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the shut off of the adapter. They mention that it shuts off immediately, gets very hot, and randomly turns off. Some customers also report that the unit randomly reboots and dies after a few minutes of use.
"...that the modem turns on and works fine for 7-10 minutes and then begins to reset...." Read more
"...for awhile, but the converter gets very hot and shuts down regularly under those conditions...." Read more

Customers are dissatisfied with the size of the charging adapter. For example, they mention that the casing is a bit large, the plug on the adapter is kinda bulky, and the cord is too short. That said, some say the USB connector is long.
"...The plug on the adapter is kinda bulky(about twice the size of your typical USB flash drive) so if the USBs are close enough together you won't be..." Read more

"...My only minor dislike is how long the USB connector is. I feel like it's hanging out of the port even though it's plugged all the way in...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the amps in the charging adapter. They mention that it does not output 3.5e1 amp, it puts out 12v but no amps, and it didn't have enough power for anything. Some say that the adapter has absolutely no power on the 9V/12V end of the cable.
"...and bright, and says “9V” and flip the switch, “12V”, but absoluterly no power on the 9V/12V end of the cable...." Read more
"There are no words for deception. This item does not even output 3.5e⁻¹ amp." Read more
"...a strip of about 20 white 12V LEDs (very small load), it now outputs only 4.8V to the barrel connector, and moving the switch doesn't change anything." Read more
"loved the idea but it didn't have enough power for anything kept glitching" Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the stability of the charging adapter. They mention that it wobbles and does not hold a stable charge. Some say that the adapter is a bit loose in their device and disconnects at the plug. The voltage sags about 300mA with 250mA load and the power flow is intermittent.
"...With 250mA load the voltage sagged about 300mA. The ripple was around 75mV with a nasty triangle top and square wave bottom, not even a rounded..." Read more
"...does not do voltage regulation, or the power bank does not provide a stable voltage...." Read more
"The plug adapter to 3.5mm is a bit loose in my device, and disconnects at the slightest bump. However, the voltage conversion works as expected." Read more
"my only complaint it that it's a lil wobbly on the input of my device but otherwise it's not given any trouble" Read more

I'm using this to power a HDHomeRun Flex 4 tuner. It generally hovers around 12 volts and 0.8 amps. Tried a couple of 1 amp supplies and the tuner just didn't like them and I wouldn't get some of my local channels. Was looking for a higher amp USB power supply and couldn't find much out there. Guess 12v1amp is pushing the USB spec. Thankfully this one delivers 1.2 amps and HDHR tuner is fine with it.
I'm using an Anker multiport USB power supply to power a RaspberryPi, USB antenna booster and the HDHR. The USB supply is designed for 3+ amps out each port at same time. So the DROK step up converter is doing fine. If your trying to power it with a cheap phone charger, your results may not be as good.
My goal was to mount the antenna stuff, Pi and hard drive on small board and hand it on a wall in the garage. Not have it be an eye sore and still be compact. The DROK supply help to not have a wallwart blocking a power outlet.
What I used it for: I wired this into my security camera so I could plug it into a solar powered battery bank or just a usb plug. It survived temperatures up to 120° F in the desert.
Overall opinion: it's very worth it but expect it to die one day suddenly for seemingly no reason.
I bought similar products from several brands then measured them for voltage regulation and ripple using an electronic load, scope and volt meter. This one was the worst performing of all of them.
With 250mA load the voltage sagged about 300mA. The ripple was around 75mV with a nasty triangle top and square wave bottom, not even a rounded typical wave (discontinuous mode artifacts?) at about 400KHz. The competition was around 1mV PP rounded wave at 3MHz at a similar load with under 10mV of voltage sag.
This might be good for non critical applications but clearly for anything that needs clean 9 or 12V there are way better products out there that do this for less $$$.
Top reviews from other countries
I use mine to power a 12V 0.1-1A telescope motor, 12V fan that needs .8A and 9V 1A HDD toaster.
No complaints! It works as long as the power supply (USB port) and load demand are within the range of the converter specs. For a little more amperage I've used a USB C to USB 3.1 adapter to deliver 3A into the unit from a power bank with a USB-C port. In testing this allows the converter to deliver about 1.3A at 12V.
Bottom line - it works but it's best for low amperage devices with minimal surge requirements.
