The author does a good job of establishing why each of the characters are the way that they are, which I appreciate. It’s always nice to have some level of a backstory to go off of. More than anything, it made me laugh a lot. It’s always a joy stumbling across a book that can do that. All in all, it’s an enjoyable read with just enough drama and angst to keep me hanging on.

Overall, this is a pretty good story. I liked the characters, particularly Ryder, quite a lot. What bothers me is when authors write a sports romance while not knowing anything about the sport. The quarterback can’t run 15 yards up the field and then throw a pass. The epilogue was super confusing because apparently they’re pro athletes but also still in school? They won the Super Bowl but the quarterback is getting his phd? And I guess they all happened to get drafted to the same team. Again, the story is good, but I wish the author had watched a few games or even talked to someone who understands the game that could have read it over a time or two before publishing.
