The keyboard is used, recovered from another laptop. How can i tell? When i installed it, the screw holes on the left side did not quite line up. This was because it was slightly bent (from someone prying it off during dissassembly).

This was easy to fix. Bend VERY CAREFULLY back into place, and it installed just fine. Product is clean, and works perfectly.

I spilled part of a coffee on my laptop keyboard and suddenly (after drying out) I lost the use of a few letters on the right of the keyboard. Very irritating. I got by for awhile with a plug in usb keyboard, but got tired of lugging a spare around, so I ordered this one.

I replaced the keyboard in ten minutes - YouTube has some very good videos that go step by step with this fix. The action of the keys feels just a bit different from my old keyboard, and I'm only mentioning it because it's the only difference I can tell from my old keyboard to my new one, but I don't care, everything works perfectly again!

My only gripe is that I should have bought this a lot earlier and saved myself the hassle of months of lugging around an extra keyboard. Totally happy, would buy again.

One of the screw studs does not align properly on HP G62 laptop...

Keyboard was available at great price and for immediate shipping. I was going to order on eBay, but USPS shipping is SO SLOW these days, can take weeks from 2 states away, this keyboard was delivered in 2 days.

Keyboard looked like perfect match/replacement for my HP G62-144DX laptop, but when installing I noticed it did not sit flush at one point along the top, where it sits against the bar above the keyboard. I took it back out and closely examined it, could see that one of the studs that accepts a screw was out of alignment, ever so slight, but tolerances on laptop were very close.

I was going to write this off as a "one off" manufacturing issue, but see that another reviewer had the same issue with an HP G62 laptop, so I have to assume this is a design flaw.

I was able to carefully drill out the spot on the laptop to allow it to fit flush AND accept the screw, but I should not have had to do this, and this would be beyond the skills of most buying this keyboard.

After making the modification and getting the keyboard installed, it seems to work perfectly!

So, if you are buying this for an HP G62 laptop, especially a G62-144DX, I would look elsewhere.

I have to agree with the other reviews that this will not quite fit a G62 laptop. One of the screw holes/bumps does not quite align (it is very close) and results in the keyboard bowing out at the top left. I had to take a multi-tool to cut off this bump to make sure it fit flush. This results in one less screw attachment, which seems to be fine for now.

The other issue I had after installing (and I'm not sure what why this would have happened) is that my password to log into my computer no longer worked. It worked fine before removing and replacing the keyboard, but after installing it did not work. I thought maybe the keyboard was not registering the keys properly since I couldn't see what I was typing in the password bar, but I realized that wasn't the case after I tried several other external keyboards and got the same result. I ended up having to reinstall my operating system on my computer, which was not that big of a deal since I was refurbishing an old laptop I had and the data on it was not important to me. But if you have stuff you don't want to lose, I recommend backing it up before installing this keyboard. After the reinstall, the keyboard seems to be working fine, so I have no idea if it was the keyboard, or some other issue. Just be mindful of this before installing.

If you are able to do everything above, I'd recommend this keyboard for the price, but if you're not, I'd recommend paying more money for something that will work without alteration or great effort.
