    Update: Deptech support staff was very courteous as they reached out to right the wrong. I decided to give this device a second try. The video quality was good for the price paid. It does give decent quality video quality but I do not think it is near the level of the Logitech BRIO. You get what you paid for. Audio quality is average. The sound sometimes feels muffled but still audible. Lastly, I do not like the sticker-like privacy cover as it looks cheap and doesn't look good cosmetically. Overall, I decided to change my rating to 4 out of 5 stars for the professionalism of the support staff as well as the camera quality.Bought this product in hope of a cheap 4K webcam. The first impression about this device is very light and all plastic. More like a toy instead of an actual quality device. Plugged it in and the camera doesn't work. The microphone works so it means that the USB is working. I attempted to connect with the seller and they asked me to record the video for them to show that it doesn't work. Then they send me a link (in China) to download. But for what? The camera doesn't work.

    Picture quality seems quite good, even in poor light conditions. In my case I'm in a basement with little light coming in from a window and a small ceiling light behind me, and I think the picture quality is still quite decent. However, for some odd reason Windows 10 only offers me 1440p video resolution (it did offer me 4k resolution to snap pictures though). Maybe it had to do with the fact that I had used a Depstech 2K wide lens webcam (D09) before. I haven't tried to get to the bottom of it because for my purposes the picture quality seems good enough at 1440p. Sounds seems decent as well.

    I also tried it on Ubuntu 21.04, and while it did recognize it and offered me 4k video resolution, the video mode was unusable at < 1 fps. I don't think it's the camera's fault as I have had problems with Ubuntu and other webcams as well. Since it works fine out-of-the-box with Windows I'm going to fault Ubuntu for this.

    The included tripod seems quite sturdy for its size. I don't really have a use for it right now, but maybe it'll come in handy some day. I can definitely see use cases for it. Even if it weren't included, the ability to screw the camera to tripods definitely is a plus and might be useful for some.

    All in all, given the price I'm pleasantly surprised.

    Update: The company really stands behind their product. They felt the unit I received was not up to par, sent another one and it worked well. Great value for the money.

    The camera feels solid, but the picture quality is lacking. The focus is soft, which makes it fuzzy, especially on a larger monitor. The color is off, and the contrast is struggling to keep up with the lighting, especially if it's suboptimal. Otherwise, not a bad unit for the price.

    This is an excellent Web Camera with very poor sound reproduction. I use Zoom a lot and can't use this cameras mic because the volume is too low, but it has very good video qualities. I, at the moment use a separate mic from this camera's built in one. IT's a fair work round for now but will be looking for replacement camera.

     I was looking for a upgrade from my Logitech c920 without having to opt for a Logitech Brio. I also primarily have use for Zoom/Teams and video conferences, so 4k was a bit overkill for me, I simply wanted a sharper 1080p that would work well if I opted for a green screen and chroma key. Having bad experiences in the past with off brands, I was a bit hesitant but based on the other reviews, pulled the trigger.

    I provided a comparison video of my Logitech c920 running at 1080p @ 30fps and the Depstech at 1080p @ 60fps. There's also a comparison of the microphones.

    Pros:

    + Color is the number one selling point. Out of the box, zero adjustments, it's excellent, almost perfect to my actual scene with default lighting
    + Built in microphone is honestly solid-- crisp, very little distortion, definitely passable. (although you're ALWAYS better off opting for an external mic)
    + Clarity is good. Not GREAT, but an improvement from the c920.
    + Large field of view; while this matters little to most people, it's a bonus, especially if you want to use chroma key.

    Cons:
    - It doesn't handle low light conditions well, you'll definitely get some chromatic aberrations/light bleed
    - Auto focus can be hit or miss, generally I manually adjust it in settings as occasionally it "gets it wrong" and you're completely washed out and it looks worse than the c920
    - I added this in pro, but I feel a need to mention it here; clarity isn't mind blowing, not for a 4k camera, and probably not compared to a DSLR or Brio; where it shines however is the OVERALL clarity, from "you" to your background and everything else. The c920 does a good job on the focus subject, but will annihilate everything behind you.

    Verdict: Potentially a budget Brio. (virtually matching specs from field of view, resolution, color accuracy and microphone) For simple zoom calls, definitely an upgrade from your c920 as at 1080p/30fps. (which is the max for all your major collaboration tools)

    Like I said, the video speaks for itself!

    La webcam vale ampiamente il prezzo richiesto, la qualità in sè della webcam è comparabile al doppio del prezzo dai marchi più blasonati del mercato. Le foto inserite nella descrizione da parte del venditore, sono molto rappresentative, inclusa la correzione colori bilanciata. L'autofocus funziona in maniera perfetta, sia per le videochiamate che per registrare. Microfono, potevano fare di più ma posso dire nella media, distinta cancellazione del rumore.

    All'interno troverete un piccolo treppiedi (la webcam ha anche un foro filettato) e uno sportellino di plastica per oscurare il sensore manualmente (opzionabile essendo un adesivo da incollare sopra l'obiettivo). Obiettivamente mi sembrava il solido brand che prometteva grandi cose a un prezzo basso, in realtà il prodotto a mio avviso si posizione in un fascia medio alta nel settore delle webcamb. Supporta benissimo Mac, Linux e Win.
