I like the kit, however it came used. Pieces were already opened. It came in two bags and it had lots of holes in it as it someone had already been in it as the bag was dusty, dirty as if someone had it for a while. I understand packaging but this didn’t appear to be packaging damage. I know packaging damage and this looks like some of my packaging from items I’ve used and had for a while. I would have given a 5 star if my items didn’t come like this. Otherwise everything is working well.

Everything was as described and seemed to be good quality. It works very well to straighten bent rings. I straightened two rings shortly after it arrived. The sizer mandrel seems to be accurate and having different measuring scales on it makes it quite versatile. Though these are not Jewler quality tools, they are great for the occasional hobbyist. My only complaint is the machined groove on the sizing mandrel has very sharp edges and needed to be filed down (or deburred). Over-all it's a good buy.

I checked with a jeweler to see how much it would cost to simply make my ring round again. I got my hand stuck somewhere it should not have been and the ring got flattened some. I fixed it to some degree but was still not round. With in about two minutes my ring was round and now slides off/on without any problem. I could have bought a few of these for the cost of the jeweler fixing my ring. I naively thought they would simply do what I did and get me out the door quickly. I guess they need to pay for their tool, but what about good old caring about customer satisfaction. I am not in the market for a ring, diamond, or any other jewelery but if I was they would not get my business.

I took a piece of 24 American gauge wire, cut it to 5.5cm (US size 6 ring) and wrapped it around the mandrel. It lined up perfectly with the "6" line. I took the "6" labeled ring on the sizing set and slid it over the mandrel. It lined up with the UK size "L," which correlates with a 5.75 US ring size. So, be aware of that if you choose to use the rings in the set for sizing. Your most accurate measure is probably just to get some twine, wrap it around the largest part of the finger the ring has to slide over (without squeezing), mark where the ends meet, and either measure it in cm if you aren't next to your mandrel (you can look up a conversion chart later to see what size to make), or wrap it around the mandrel to see what size to make.
