I really like the SX-550. It speeds up my game versus using my laser range finder. It takes to or three attempts to get an accurate reading on my laser ranger finder. Also it is difficult to see the flag on my Leupold range finder, especially on a bright day. The screen is beautiful and clear on the Sky Caddie. It also updates very quickly and the processor is quick and smooth. Happy with the purchase.

I know many people don’t like the subscription fee that comes along with having a sky caddie but I love mine. So easy to use and shows me a great picture of every hole as well distances to key things like hazards/penalty areas. I have trouble using range finders so this is what works best for me.

I have owned so many GPS devices over decades. The issue I have with this, is you have to pull it in and out of your pocket and push way too many screen options, or buttons to do anything, like keep score, or track clubs hit and yardages..etc. Too many steps. Wish it was like Game Golf or Arccos in how simple it is to track shots.
I mounted it to cart using a cell phone holder, and its better used like that, rather than carrying in pocket. Its too annoying to use for scoring, and shot tracking....it so many steps. So I played better when I just focused on the shot only, and didn't pull it out, push a bunch of options, then put it back, re-align to ball, etc. Annoying.

The best feature of this thing is once you enter the yardages of all your clubs, it shows you WHERE each club would end up, if you hit a shot well. So you have a green for example, then it might say...9i is front of green, 8i is back middle of green, and 7i is barely off the back, etc. Its very useful for that. Also does that for every shot, fairways, etc....so you can judge the safe club selections....

Easy to read device. Battery life is excellent. Shows accurate info to hazards and suggests landing points. Navigating to past holes to fix score can be confusing and cause you to lose the hole you are recording. They really need to add slope (plays like) feature. I miss that feature I had on my Garmin, and they have that data since they walk courses to get distances. They can also have an option to turn slope/plays like off if someone is using the GPS for USGA events. Add that feature and it's 5 stars. And not sure how up to date the course info is. I know of a course that they flipped holes 1 and 10 a year ago and it's not changed yet on the device. Also courses that closed a year or more are still active.

Item was given as a gift to someone, therefore I cannot rate its features, but seems to be very nice.

Update, The product received was evidently a returned item as when I tried to activate the unit, it was discovered that someone had scratched off the activation code and used it to activate another unit, therefore, I cannot activate the unit without paying for another activation code. Very disappointed. Be careful if you order this item and check if the activation code has been already been activated. Cannot return the item as it is outside of the return period.
