Better than expected, by far
It doesn't have a "touch screen" and never implied that it did so I have no idea why that's a star rating on the review page. I also noticed that nobody asked me to write two reviews, as I bought another one of these two days after the first one arrived, but that's okay. If I had put the other in my roommate's name, as it was for them, a second review prompt may have appeared.Personally though, as a long time computer expert, I figured it would be trash. Honestly bought it after a half dozen shots of Jameson and do not recall purchasing the first one. Didn't need a laptop, didn't want a laptop, no idea why I bought one in a drunken stupor.Well that worked out to my benefit, lol, it's a pretty decent little computer. I mean, I game so I stick mainly to my $3,000 rig and my ultra-wide curved gaming monitor but this Asus will be my travel companion. I can always remote into my home computer and play the games all the same, they'll just be in 720p because that is just about the laptop's peak of screen clarity. If you just need a travel computer that you can check email on, create or edit documents and spreadsheets with, watch Netflix or YouTube, or even just play music in the background while you surf the web, this thing should be more than fine for your needs. I have done all these things and more with ease on it.The first boot up took me nearly 40 minutes to get to the desktop but that is Windows software setup, not so much the computer's hardware. Updating windoze to be what it wanted to be took nearly 5 hours. After all that was said and done and I had some software installed to make it the workstation I wanted it to be, it boots fast, shuts down fast, reboots quickly enough and the Bluetooth capabilities (if you know what you're doing and have the accessories) can open its world beyond what the little stature of it indicates. The fact that I got them on Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals for under $160 each was just the icing on the cake.

This laptop sucks! You cannot set it up without setting up Microsoft via an external email account registration or setting up an Outlook email, there's no way to bypass it. I opted for the Outlook email for setup, because I didn't have one already so they wouldn't have access to anything in my current email (I don't trust them) After a gazillion attempts at updates, I figured I would move on, BUT.. once set up, and updated, you're stuck in "S mode" which slows the laptop down considerably! This S mode also won't allow you to download any apps that don't appear in the Microsoft store. You're supposed to be able to disable S mode, by clicking "get" once you go through settings, system etc., but every single time I attempted to disable it, it wouldn't allow me to. I spent hours on this! So, frustrated, I decided to hell with it, I was going to do a system restore to remove all of my private information, but even that was nearly impossible!! It took me over an hour to get it to "system reset" and it sat at 1% forever then kept cancelling itself out and I had to keep reattempting, and I'm honestly not even sure it removed my personal info. Glad I put in a bogus BD in, which it requires, instead of my real one (like that's any of Microsofts business, I'm surprised it didn't ask for blood type and pronouns). Microsoft is like a virus in itself. They want you to use Microsoft and Microsoft only, including the Bing search engine, which is also a crappy product. AINT HAPPENING! I despise this laptop, I'm returning it, I would never recommend it to anyone. Piece of junk! And I own an ASUS laptop that I have had for over 10 years that's still working like a champ, which is what prompted me to buy this one. Nope, nope, nope. Don't buy it!
