The idea of a blood alcohol level tester that fits on a keychain is very appealing to me. However, to start the device I received is not as pictured in the Amazon listing, there were no voice prompts as described in the instructions printed on the box, and the readout screen (while easy enough to read) is considerably misaligned / crooked. That said I charged its internal battery and did a somewhat controlled test. I drank a series of ¾ ounce half shots over time using 100 proof bonded whiskey. Three things my (unscientific) test emphasizes: 1) the importance of waiting to take the test; 2) drinking water before the test and intermittently helps; and 3) drinking over a reasonable amount of time. Note that in all USA states, the blood alcohol limit is 0.08.
1st ¾ oz: Drank from 7:21pm to 7:28pm
Test 1 results: No water first 9:28 0.199; With water 7:31 0.133; 7:38 0.024; 7:43 0.023
2nd ¾ oz: Drank from 7:44pm to 7:50pm

Better to be safe than sorry
This alcohol checker is conveniently small and comes with a key ring for attachment and ease of access. I plan to keep this thing in my purse at all times so even when “I think” I’m being safe I can actually find out, real time. You don’t have to press you lips to it either so you can test ALL your buddies too!! If nothing else is a convo starter and a heck of a lot of fun too.

This is pretty easy to use. Just charge it up and follow the fairly simple directions. There isn't any audio, just some beeps and messages on the little screen. You need to hold the power button in for the unit to come on and then it does a 10 second warmup. Then you have 10 seconds in which you blow into the little holes. After that it will show your results. You can't see the 10 second count down on the screen when you are using it so just count in your head. It turns itself off pretty quick so look at the screen when you are done. Doesn't feel very durable so I wouldn't put it on your keychain. It did come with a really short charging cable and a set of directions. I can't vouch for the accuracy of this unit as I have nothing to compare it to. I had a few sips of wine with dinner last night and then tried this out. It gave me a result of 0.002 and a green happy face. It isn't very hygienic to use with other people and it also has no cover for the holes during storage or a way to clean it out. The directions do suggest to use the warmup cycle to clean it. It is just okay for me.
