Setup the remote with the instructions they provide. If you use Apple TV, like me, or another such device, be sure to set the remote up with that device as well. I almost gave this remote a low score because of limit functionality. But before I submitted my review something told me to check Apple TV's remote setups. Luckily I did and you just follow the prompts and set this up to control Apple TV. Only a week using this remote but so far works great. If that should change, I will update this review.

If you do not need a remote control that has mega buttons this one is basic and does what you need to. The original remote that came with the Hisense TV just one day decided to no longer work. This replacement as not only economical but no set up was needed. Just aim toward TV and pressa da button!

The headline says it all. This remote is excellent at tv control. And it has its faults in other areas. Right out of the box this remote comes inoperable. The problem arises when you go to put the batteries in. The space for the each AAA battery is way too long. The connection points for the + and - ends of the battery are too far away for the battery to make a connection. You will have to stretch the two springs in the battery compartment out farther so that when you put the batteries in they stay there. If you don't do this, the batteries rattle around inside the remote like two nickels in a tin can, and the remote won't work. Another problem, you may unfortunately find, is the plastic used in the making of the outer shell of this remote is cheap and brittle. My remote fell off my table (28" high) onto my vinyl plank flooring and the plastic shell broke. Now my remote has a hole in it. So after all that, please know this remote works with both of my Samsung TVs, and they are different models. There is no programming. It just works. So that was very nice, and you can change channels and the volume and you're good. So for $20 I am happy enough with his remote. The actual Samsung remote would have cost me $60.
