Easy to use
This waffle maker is easy to set up and use. It has a drip tray that catches any overflow, as you can see in the photo. Turn it on its side for easy storage. It cooks evenly. The green light stays on for a few seconds after you put batter in and flip it but then goes off and back on when done cooking. It does give off steam while cooking. The waffles come out with little effort and no sticking.The waffle iron is made of metal with the exception of the legs it stands on, the base, drip tray and handle which are all plastic. While this helps cut down on the weight, it will be interesting to see how long the plastic hold up. It is easy to clean, even when you overfill. Before your first use they recommend hand washing the grate and rubbing with vegetable oil.Overall this is a good waffle iron for the price.

Who doesn't like homemade waffles? I like to make from-scratch waffles. Waffles are fun and easy to make and there are so many ways to vary them. Sometimes I make a batch and freeze them, too. You don't need to make waffles from scratch, but it's easy. But even a cake mix could be used.
The Proctor Silex Belgian Waffle Maker helps me make great waffles because it's easy to use. It doesn't even have controls - you just plug it in and it heats to the correct temperature.
I like that it flips (like the professional waffle makers) because that helps to make the center of the waffle light. It doesn't just rise from one side, leaving the other side heavy with all of the weight from the waffle.
It heats up quickly and maintains an even heat to bake the waffle evenly on both sides. The waffle maker lights up with a green indicator light to tell me when it's time to add the waffle batter.
There's a moat circling the waffle that allows excess batter to run outside the waffle area without dripping over the side. And there is a removable drip tray below to catch any run-overs if the waffler is over-filled even beyond the moat. This really saves on clean-up!
The waffler has a non-stick coating so it can easily be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
And the final result is a perfect Belgian waffle with deep wells to hold melting butter and raspberry jam! Or to hold maple syrup so it doesn't get away. Yummy!
I really enjoy using this waffle maker and I would recommend it to anybody who wants to own a non-stick flip waffler just like the pros!
