I'm currently on the hunt for good shoes, and these were the first pair of 13 (extra) wides that actually fit, so kudos for that! The shoes also seemed to be pretty comfortable and well made, but I didn't get a chance to test the waterproofness because... THE GRIP. Started walking down the metal steps outside our trailer after the rain, slipped on the very first step and had to grab the railing. Unfortunately, even though these shoes have nice looking tread, it's made of some kind of slippery rubber. Too bad, returned.

These hiking shoes definately have a wide fit; these fit my wide feet perfectly. The shoes definately need some breaking-in time before using the shoes on extensive hiking, though. The sole is very stiff and the new material around the rest of the foot is too, making it difficult to get a tight tie, so the foot still moves around quite a bit inside the shoe. I didn't have time to break them in and got blisters on both feet on my first moderately long hike. Good cushion in the heal, but lacks some cushion in the ball of foot area, where I got my blisters. I imagine these will be better with some more time breaking them in on shorter walks/hikes. Price was right, though, but don't use on any long hikes right out of the box.

I liked the shoes, they were exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately the sole from one of the shoes started coming off. Skechers has a two year warranty so I contacted Amazon to see if they would honor, they would not, and told me to contact Skechers. I contacted Skechers and they made me give them an inordinate amount of information about the shoe AND I had to ship them back to get a new ones. They do NOT cover shipping. It cost me $30 to ship from Ohio to California. Not very good customer service in my opinion. Very disappointed in this experience.

I would like to add to this review. After I spent $30 shipping these back, here was the response months later:
