I am writing a review because I got annoyed by all the people who complained because they only received one item but the pictures and the description clearly states that you can choose one item or two. The quality of the product is excellent and it is better then anything I ever purchased before

Well, a carabiner is a carabiner. I won't know much about what is being asked until it fails, right? It is a carabiner and has worked so far. There is only one in the package and it arrived in a box that was too big for what was inside. But, that is not on me...

Ordered these to use in our basement shop to easily hang and organize things. Very sturdy and appears like it will hold up well over time. The locking mechanism on one of them sticks a little, making it a little more difficult to lock and unlock one handed. As others have mentioned, I wouldn't use these for climbing, but for general utility carabiners, or to use when roping limbs or pulling gear, they're pretty solid and a good price.

This is a nice carabiner but it is NOT the be all end all for a Climbing Certification. ASTM F1774-20 Standards isn't a Green Light to Go Use it for Climbing and ASTM F1774-20 Specifically States that this Certification is:
"1.4 This specification DOES NOT IMPLY APPROVAL of any method of use of climbing and mountaineering carabiners. In addition, the test load values contained herein are not to be interpreted as the forces which a climbing and mountaineering carabiner may be subjected to, or expected to sustain in actual field use."

I will not be using this for climbing and I needed it for another use with a leash and a dog tie out and it is SUPERB for that. The Gate opens wide to allow big access to larger things like a retractable leash handle and while the screw gate isn't the smoothest one I've handled it is smooth enough and very functional. I could not get the gate to open with the gate lock engaged. I would recommend this if you need a VERY STRONG TIE POINT that is also easily disconnected. Things that come to mind are boating, hanging a tree swing or porch swing from the ceiling, on property towing with small tractor or even a large mower, pulling stumps, connecting chains for various tasks etc. This is a heavy duty "working mans" option that has a normal oval shape to take a load and distribute forces. It's very strong and heavy duty but I am not willing to place my life in its hands. I have proper climbing and safety gear for when my life is at risk and there's never going to be a reason for me to "budget shop" for those type items....it's just not worth it to me.

I do wish they'd take the MAIN PICTURE SHOWING 2 CARABINERS down off this offering as YOU ONLY GET ONE FOR $14 and not 2! Its a little misleading. $14 for only one is a little high for this style item with this capability. Others tend not to exceed around the $10 mark and they do offer a 2 pack for $20 so I'd like to see the price fall more inline with competitive options. I'd order again if the price becomes more competitive or if I feel I need 2 then I'd just order the 2 pack as that's on point with competition and I know I like this product because I already have an example of one. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about it. It arrived in perfect shiny condition, the screw lock works great for an item in this tier and it's exactly overkill for what I needed it for. Despite all of my statements above this IS A HEAVY DUTY CARABINER and it probably would perform to 25kn/5600lbs. I just have no need to test it to that limit. If you have a truck bed crane, a winch, need to jack up an engine or pull one or anything else of that nature then this would do that EASILY without breaking a sweat. I have no problem recommending it for such tasks, but I will not recommend it for situations that involve the potential for loss of life or permanent bodily injury and will always recommend using, yes, more expensive, TRUSTED Name Brand Gear. But there's nothing wrong with getting these and putting some work to them. That's what I'm going to do and if it breaks when it should not have I WILL edit my review above all this original text and let everyone know. As it stands, I like this and I'll get more when I need them.
