I was a little concerned about the focal length as it is unusual compared to what I am used to. I had, and sold both the 17 and 25 1.8 lenses as I wanted something which was weather proof and small in size. The 17 and 25 1.2 lenses are too large for my liking and their cost, prohibitive. Well, this is the best of both worlds. Wx sealing, very bright 1.4, incredible image quality, and SUPER portable. Paired with my EM1 Mk3, I have the perfect go to set up. Great buy and wonderful optic.

This lens is incredibly sharp and the colors are amazing, I got it to replace the 17mm F1.8 and the 25mm F1.8, these lenses are very charp too, but when compared to the 20mm F1 4 pro, they produce a armer reddish coloring while the 20mm produces a more blueish coloring which I find more pleasant and realistic.

On terms of composition, I believe I can replace the 17mm with the 20mm, but I'm not that sure about replacing the 25mm since I kind of like the 25mm compression better on certain photos. My conclusion on this matter is: I can use the 20mm in about 80% of the 17mm shots, and about 40% of the 25mm shots.

I also want to point out, that this lens is very small and light, in my case I don't mind it not having a manual focus clutch, since I rely on my EM5 Mk III autofocus most of the time.

Excellent fast lens for low light photography.

Bought the lens to use indoors. Looking for a lens that could handle low light environments for both video and photos. This lens was an excellent choice for the price I paid. This lens came from Amazon Europe and was priced considerably lower than the manufactured retail. It was an unopened boxed up lens from Olympus and had no issues with the warranty signup. Image quality was sharp and autofocus is excellent. The manual focus was great using an Olympus OM-D Mark III. Have not had an opportunity yet to capture many videos. Very happy with the purchase for I was reviewing the Olympus 17mm and 25mm f1.8 lens. This lens fell in between these two focal ranges with a faster f1.4 capability. I'm glad I purchased it when I did.

This little lens is my new favorite. It’s quite possibly the best lens ever for MFT cameras. It’s a great focal length, stupid sharp, weatherproof, f1.4 with beautiful boca, and reasonably sized. I just wish it was a little less expensive, but that’s the price we pay for quality lenses I guess

24mm - 90mm is a most useful focal range for most. This is lens is sharp at all focal lengths and all apertures up to f/11 where diffraction inevitably closes in. It manages flair, and chromatic aberration well and is tiny and light and weather resistant. It's on par with my 12-40 f/2.8 but smaller and lighter.

When I travel, I take this lens and a 20mm f/1.7 or f/1.4 with an Oly EM-5v3 and I'm confident the camera and lens will not be the limiting factor.

And it's a pretty attractive price too!

Ich betreibe das Objektiv an der Panasonic GX8 und der erste Eindruck war, dass es vergleichsweise groß und schwer ist (z.B. im Vergleich zu den Olympus 12/2.0, 25/1.8 und 45/1.8 Objektiven) und damit die Kamera recht frontlastig ausfällt. Erfreulich, dass eine Streulichtblende mitgeliefert wird, diese sorgt aber auch dafür, dass das Objektiv noch massiver wirkt. Zudem fehlten die von Olympus Pro Objektiven gewohnten manueller Fokusschieber und die Funktionstaste am Objektiv.

Ansonsten war das Objektiv beim ersten Ausführen bei einem Waldspaziergang unauffällig. Im Anschluss dann noch ein paar (Selbst-)Portraits unter Studiobedingen geschossen.

Beim Sichten der Fotos kam dann auch die Begeisterung. Die meisten Bilder hatte ich bei Offenblende erstellt und ich sah auch keinen Grund, außer zum erhöhen der Schärfentiefe, zum Abblenden. Und auch bei den Portraits war jeder Schuss ein Treffer.

Fazit: auch wenn ich den Eindruck habe, dass hier ein Objektiv, das noch von Olympus nicht ganz fertigentwickelt wurde von OM Systems in die Produktion übernommen wurde, haben mich die Ergebnisse begeistert. Wenn man die Größe und das Gewicht akzeptieren kann, dann ist das ein schönes Allroundobjektiv.

El objetivo esta bien hecho, y el enfoque es rápido y silencioso. Sin embargo tiene una nitidez mediocre, no es mala, pero en f1,4 es casi inutilizable como vayas a hacer un recorte o la mas mínima ampliación de un detalle. En diafragmas mas cerrados mejora pero sigue siendo muy normalito, nada especial para lo que se espera de un PRO y después de haber visto videos y reseñas sobre este objetivo. Las aberraciones cromáticas son de traca, aparecen continuamente. Lo he comparado con el Lumix 20 f1,7 II que tengo, y es muchísimo mas nítido y contrastado, lo único malo y por eso lo quería sustituir, es que no es sellado y el enfoque es lento y ruidoso. Pero en nitidez y calidad de imagen es superior a este. Le han puesto la etiqueta pro por la fabricación y sellado, pero no se parece a un Zuiko pro en nada mas. Lo he devuelto.
