This is a wonderful all around media player! It has not coughed on a single DVD that I've put in it including new and old ones. The sound from the internal speakers is over and above what I was expecting by far. Plenty loud. I have a Sound Freq speaker that I connect it to and it sounds Fantastic when set to Surround Sound! Oh, and contrary to other reviews, I have found that the Fire stick works perfectly well on this units power. I was pleasantly surprised to find it even worked on a public network! (Cleveland Clinic) Another great feature is that it will play discs from anywhere. This includes those from Europe in the PAL format. Point being, it's Not restricted to a specific region!
The picture is brought and clear, sound is clean and clear all is adjustable and you have a ton of options. I will say, the supplied antenna is ok for only strong local channels. You will need a better one if you are further away but the tuner is fine and works well and gives a good picture. There are tons of antennas that are low cost so don't let that stop you from purchasing this amazing unit. Battery time is about on point. 3 hours on speaker and about 4.5 to 5 with headphones. If you use the Fire stick it will be less. You can use an external 12 volt source but be sure it can supply up to about 1.6 amps if this unit needs a charge and you can get away with 1 amp if the internal battery is fully charged. I'm using a standard battery bank and a 1 amp USB to 12 volt converter and even using the Fire stick, it will power it. Now it's right at the limit at .9 amps, (with the fire stick) and at about .75 amps on DVD. I'm looking into a battery pack that puts out 12 volt directly. I haven't had this a long time but have run it a lot of hours and it's been great. It also has a well thought out remote that has all functions on it. I would not hesitate to go with this unit again. Note this review is for the 12" screen model not the larger or smallest one.
