    I have already returned one external mic, and bought another, thinking the mic was bad. It's the CAMERA that is bad, if you actually want sound with video. By extension, only half the camera works for anything. It will take a decent photo, bit It's useless to me with no video sound. Yes, you get the usual muffled sound from the original mic/hole, but don't bank on it as a quality video camera. The camera also turns itself on and off, during operation. (I did check the automatic shutoff time, and that wasn't it.) Not to mention, where does one find an extra or replacement SX-90 battery? If there is one similar that matches or is compatible, it should be stated. In the owners manual, that is the product number you get. Put it in Amazon search bar, and see if you find it. . .
    The seller offered to make it right. Since I accepted the offer, I haven't heard a word back at all. If the microphone port worked, it didn't shut down in the middle of use, and you knew how/where to get maintenance parts, such as a battery, it might be worth money you don't have to set on fire. Best of luck.
    Update: I have given 4 stars because the seller has agreed to make it right. It hasn't happened yet, bit they have finally emailed, and I THINK we are working on it. If a seller is willing to correct their mistakes, you can't get much better than that, because there are so many who don't. So, kudos to them for CARING enough to correct it 👏

    I like the camera it takes nice clean pictures used it on my vacation to St Croix. Will recommend 👌 only things I didn't like is that it didn't come with shoulder strap and a back up battery but I will get them. ☺️

    the camera works good don't get me wrong. its just that when i try to use my microphone it does not work like at all. like it goes completely quiet like its on mute. i need this mic because i need the back camera and the mic on the camera doesn't really pick up the sound on the back camera.

    I got this for xmas and its my fav I'm loving how easy it is to use and upload pics to my laptop and the diff filters are awesome i thinknmy current fab part is the brightness/darkness adjustment allows me to capture the sunsets

    I struggle to get clear pictures, because u have to hold the button for a few seconds, I can't hold it steady enough. But when I mount on a tri-pod, and record video. It is excellent for that, I'm very happy with it overall. The selfie cam is a cool feature. I look forward to trying the time lapse, and some other stuff
